Adult Supervision:
– It is recommended that adults supervise the setup, usage, and any interactions with the Snake, especially when involving children or inexperienced users. -
Not a Toy:
– The Keysnake is a sophisticated musical device designed for specific applications.
– Itis not intended for use as a toy, and should be handled with care and respect for its technology. -
Avoid Using Damaged Device:
– Do not attempt to use the Snake if it is visibly damaged, has exposed wiring, or malfunctioning lights.
– Using a damaged device can pose safety risks and further damage the equipment. -
Operating Temperature Range:
– The Keysnake should be used within the temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit).
– Operating the device outside of this temperature range may lead to malfunction or damage. -
Environmental Conditions:
– The Keysnake should not be used in damp or wet conditions.
– Avoid using the Snake outdoors or in humid environments to prevent water damage. -
Certified USB Power Supply:
– Always connect the Keysnake to a certified USB power supply or a computer’s USB port for power.
– Using uncertified or incompatible power sources can lead to damage and void the warranty. -
USB B Port Connection:
– When connecting the Snake to a digital piano, ensure you only use the designated USB B port on the piano.
– Using other ports or connectors may result in improper functioning. -
Handle with Care:
– Handle the Keysnake with care, avoiding excessive bending, twisting, or rough handling.
– Gentle and careful handling ensures the longevity of the device. -

Do not Modify:
Please note that any modifications made to the Keysnake without the expressed permission of Keysnake Ltd may violate the compliance of the Keysnake and void authority to use it.
The Keysnake complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules, which mandates that its operation must not cause harmful interference to other devices and that it must accept any interference received including any interference which may cause undesired operation.
NOTE: the Keysnake has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in any particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by switching the equipment off and on again, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures:
– Relocate or reorientate the Keysnake
– Increase the distance between the Keysnake and the affected equipment
– Connect the Keysnake to a power outlet on a different circuit to that supplying the affected equipment,

The Keysnake complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This Keysnake should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between the head of the Keysnake and the operator’s body. Introduction:
Welcome to the Keysnake Setup and Installation Guide! This manual will walk you through the step-by-step process of setting up your Keysnake for optimal performance. Whether you have a standard keyboard or a controller keyboard, follow the instructions below to ensure a smooth setup. -
Wiring Up:
Before you begin, make sure you have the PlugAndPlink app installed and have created an account. 2A. Standard Keyboard:
If your keyboard makes its own sound or has an audio output jack, follow these steps:
– Select the type of keyboard you have in the app: Standard Keyboard or Controller Keyboard.
– Connect the provided USB A to USB C power adapter to the wall adapter and plug it into a wall socket.
– Plug the USB C end of the adapter into any USB C port on the Keysnake’s tongue.
– Never connect two power sources simultaneously to the Keysnake.
– Check if Keysnake’s nostrils light up to confirm power reception.
– Examine your keyboard’s back. If it has MIDI DIN ports, follow the instructions in the app.
– If your keyboard has a USB B port, follow the USB wiring instructions in the app.
2B. Controller Keyboard:
For a keyboard that requires connection to a computer, follow these steps:
– Unplug the controller keyboard from your computer.
– Connect the provided USB A to USB C wire: USB A end to your computer, USB C end to the Keysnake’s tongue.
– Avoid simultaneous connection of two power sources.
– Verify Keysnake’s power with flashing nostrils. Ensure your computer is switched on.
– Follow the USB wiring instructions provided in the app. -
Bluetooth Pairing:
– Ensure Keysnake is in Bluetooth pairing mode (alternate blue and red left nostril).
– Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and select “Step 2 – Bluetooth Pairing” in the app.
– Once connected (solid green nostrils), proceed to the app confirmation.
– Disable auto connect if sharing, use “disconnect” to allow others to connect. -
Firmware Update:
– Check if Keynake’s firmware is up to date in the app.
– If not, initiate the update through the app. Allow time for the update (flashing purple nostrils).
– Do not disconnect Keysnake during the update.
– Keysnake will reboot automatically once the update is done. -
Checking:****
– Ensure all connections are made correctly by running checks in the app
– Use the “check lights” button to verify Keysnake’s lights.
– If issues persist, check your piano’s power and connection wires.
– Contact support via the help tab if needed.

Positioning : – Move Keysnake backward only, bend head freely.
– Position Keysnake facing left to test, adjust wires if necessary.
– Align Keysnake’s flashing light with middle C key.
– Ensure Keysnake’s belly bumps fit over black keys.
– Push Keysnake’s body up keys, bend neck if needed.
– Ensure Keysnake’s body fits behind keys without interfering.
– Repeat positioning with Keysnake facing right.
– Choose the best direction based on comfort and wire reach.
– Adjust Keysnake’s neck for correct body positioning.
– Choose direction in the app, reposition if necessary. -
Testing:
– Verify correct Keysnake position by playing keys, lights should match.
– Adjust direction if lights are not mirroring your playing.
– Turn off the transpose function if needed.
– Test Snake’s note sending capability by clicking “Play My Piano.”
– If you hear the song, your setup is complete.
