Courtyard 42 Outdoor Gas Fireplace

Product Information

The Courtyard 42 Outdoor Gas Fireplace is a versatile and stylish addition to any outdoor living space. With its dimensions of 42″ front width, 34″ height, and 20″ depth, it offers a compact yet powerful heating solution. The firebox opening measures 42″ x 30″ and it weighs 95 lbs. This gas fireplace is designed for outdoor use and comes with features like outside air and gas access, as well as electrical access for added convenience. It is important to note that the appliance must be installed according to the provided installation manual for proper dimensions and requirements.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the surface where the fireplace will be installed is outside the building’s warm air envelope. If it is not, make sure that it is part of an exterior wall system.
  2. Follow regional practices and guidelines to prevent water penetration around the appliance. Flash the perimeter of the appliance, corners, and the appliance face accordingly.
  3. Determine the suitable location for the fireplace in your outdoor living space. The installation requires 30% (or .30) of the outdoor living space periphery to be open.
  4. Calculate the open area length by adding the lengths of the outside living space. Divide this length by the total outdoor living space length to determine if it meets the required .30 ratio.
  5. Ensure proper clearances to combustible materials. The fireplace requires a minimum clearance of 36 inches to the ceiling, 0 inches to standoffs, 0 inches to the back, 0 inches to the floor, and 0 inches to the side.
  6. Depending on the finish material used, ensure that combustible flooring is not installed next to the front of the appliance.
  7. Consider the mantel and wall projections. The fireplace requires a minimum side wall clearance of 6 inches and a maximum mantel projection of 18 inches.
  8. Seal joints with non-combustible sealant to prevent heat from being drawn into the wall cavity.
  9. Adhere strictly to the product installation instructions and codes (UL127, UHDQGSRWHQWLDOLQMXU) to ensure safe and proper installation.

30% (or .30) of the outdoor living space periphery needs to be open.
