Product Information
The CAT5 USB KVM Extender is a device that allows you to extend the distance between a computer and a console (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) using a CATx UTP cable. It consists of a Transmitter (Tx) unit, a Receiver (Rx) unit, USB KVM cables, and power adapters. The Transmitter unit is connected to the local computer, while the Receiver unit is connected to the remote console. The Transmitter unit features a computer port (HDB-15 VGA) for connecting to the local computer using a special 3-in-1 KVM Combo-free cable. It also has an upgrade port (USB Type B) for firmware upgrades. The Receiver unit features an OSD (on-screen display) menu that allows users to configure various settings. The OSD menu can be navigated using the Esc, Left/Right cursor, Up/Down cursor, and F1 keys. The Receiver unit also has a power LED, a link LED, USB keyboard and mouse connectors, a toggle button for switching between local and remote computers, and LEDs indicating the active computer. The product supports hotkey sequences for switching between local and remote computers. The hotkey sequence on the Receiver Console can be customized, while the hotkey sequence on the Transmitter Console is always Scroll Lock + Scroll Lock. The product also features a deadlock function that prevents simultaneous usage by multiple users. The deadlock is indicated by flashing LEDs on the Transmitter unit. For optimized video output on the remote console, users can adjust various parameters. The product automatically adjusts the blue component color in proportion to the red and green colors, eliminating the need for manual adjustment. The product also offers an auto-logout feature that can be enabled or disabled. The auto logout timeout can be configured from 0 to 10 minutes. If password protection is not enabled, the auto-logout feature will not be activated.
