The Remote does not power on
- Charge The Remote by connecting it to a power source using a USB cable. The red light on the front of The Remote should turn on within five minutes. If it doesn’t, try using another USB cable.
- If the light still does not turn on and the camera does not charge, please contact support for further assistance.
The Remote does not work properly, charge, or has display issues
- Restart The Remote by pressing and holding the Mode Button and Shutter Button simultaneously for 8 seconds. If the issue persists, proceed to step 2.
- Perform a Factory Reset by entering The Remote settings menu. Use the Mode Button to navigate to [Reset] and press the Shutter Button to select [Reset menu]. Use the Mode Button to navigate to [Reset] again and press the Shutter Button to select [Reset confirmation]. The Remote will reset to its factory settings and then restart.
- If the problem still persists, manually update The Remote by visiting The Remote Manual Update page and following the instructions provided. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact support for further assistance.

If The Remote is unresponsive or not working properly, please try the
troubleshooting steps below. The Remote does not power on
Restart The Remote
Press and hold the Mode Button and Shutter Button simultaneously for 8
seconds.
Charge The Remote
- The Remote has a battery life of approximately 60 hours. That’s a long time; so long that you might not ever think about charging it. If The Remote isn’t turning on, go ahead and give it a charge to see if that solves the problem.
- When you connect to power, the red light on the front of The Remote should turn on within five minutes. If this does not happen, try another USB cable.
- If the light does not turn on and the camera does not charge, please contact support (https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs)so we can help resolve the issue.
