Product Usage Instructions

  1. Read the Manual: Before using the product, carefully read all precautions and instructions in the manual. Keep the manual for future reference.
  2. Customer Care: For customer service inquiries, call the toll-free line at 1-800-492-9334.
  3. Assembly:
    • Pound the Ground Stakes (A) into the ground using a rubber mallet or hammer. Make sure the push pin is facing away from the cage.
  4. Precautions:
    • Do not leave the cage assembled during wind, rain, or snow as it can void the warranty.
    • Adult supervision is required at all times during use.
    • Always inspect the netting before and during use. If there are any rips or holes, do not use the cage to prevent bodily injury and property damage.
    • Ensure that the Pitching Machine is turned off and unplugged when attaching the Batting Cage Net Harness Tubes to the Pitching Machine (if applicable).
    • Before allowing a batter in the cage, sight in and adjust the pitch machine to the desired target and speed. Only one batter should be in the cage at a time.
    • The machine operator must remain behind the Pitching Machine while it is in use to avoid bodily harm.
    • If personally pitching inside the cage, use a protective screen to protect the person throwing balls.
    • The batter must wear a NOcSAE Approved Batting Helmet.
    • Ensure that the area outside the Batting Cage is clear to prevent bodily injury or property damage caused by the net extending outward when hit by an object or ball.
    • Do not use golf balls or similar-sized balls inside the net as they can break through the net holes and cause harm.
    • Follow all precautions and use common sense as you would when playing baseball or softball to prevent bodily injury.
    • It is recommended to replace the net every year.

WARNING

  • Do not leave cage assembled during ANY wind, rain, or snow. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN VOID WARRANTY.
  • Adult supervision required AT ALL TIMES during use.
  • ALWAYS inspect netting before and during use. If any rips or holes appear – DO NOT USE! Serious bodily injury and/or property damage could occur.
  • Make sure Pitching Machine is turned off and unplugged when attaching the Batting Cage Net Harness Tubes to the Pitching Machine (If cage has net harness).
  • Never allow a batter in the Batting Cage until the Pitching Machine has been sighted in and pitching at the desired target and desired speed. Only one batter in the cage at a time.
  • Machine operator must remain behind Pitching Machine at all times while Machine is in use. Being too close to the net could cause bodily harm.
  • If personally pitching inside, a protective screen must be used to protect person throwing balls.
  • Batter must wear NOCSAE Approved Batting Helmet.
  • Make sure area outside Batting Cage is clear. Net will have slack and may extend outward when hit by an object or ball. Therefore, make sure any person, pet, object or property are clear of this area to prevent bodily injury/property damage.
  • Do not use golf balls or similar-sized balls inside Net. Failure to do so could allow the balls to break through the Net holes and cause harm.
  • Bodily injury could occur if precautions aren’t followed. Use common sense and all the same precautions as you would when playing baseball or softball.
  • It is recommended to replace this net every year.

ASSEMBLY

STAKE ASSEMBLY

  1. STEP 1: Using a rubber mallet or hammer, pound Ground Stakes (A) into the ground as outlined below. For shorter lengths, simply alter the distance as needed.

Arch Assembly

  1. STEP 1: Slide each pole section together as shown. Make sure the poles slide in as far as possible, then tape each fiberglass rod joint to ensure the poles don’t slide out of the fitting. DO NOT TAPE THE FOAM PADDING.
    REPEAT 3X FOR EACH ARCH ASSEMBLY & LAY NEXT TO INSERTED GROUND STAKES .Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-Cage-

  2. STEP 2: Go to the middle arch and tie 2 Black Guide Ropes (H) to each metal fiberglass rod fitting as shown below. Then, attach the other side of each rope to the corresponding metal fitting on arches 1 and 3. Finally, attach Part I White Support Rope & Stake (4x) to fittings shown below.
    IMPORTANT: Attach Rope to the Actual Fiberglass Rod fitting, not the smaller metal arch welded on the fitting.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24

  3. STEP 3: Attach the remaining 4 Black Guide Ropes to the Angled Metal Pole (D) Foam Padding. Next, Unfold the Batting Cage Net (J) and spread the net over the length of the cage frame.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-Cage- \(5\)

  4. STEP 4: Starting with the middle arch, grab one B pole and someone else grab the other B pole. Together, carefully raise the poles and slide over the middle ground stakes (See Fig. 1). Make sure the ground stake push-pin locks in the metal pole hole! Repeat this for the remaining 2 arches so the cage stands upright. Next, spread the netting evenly over the frame so there is equal parts netting touching all sides of the ground surrounding the cage. Finally, Locate the fiberglass rod fitting where the White Support Rope is attached and select 1 hole in the netting. Push the support stake through this hole so the white ropes and 4 support stakes are outside the cage, then stake each one in the ground slightly wider than the width of the cage.

ATTACHING MACHINE TO HARNESS

  1. STEP 1:
    Slide Batting Cage Harness Tubes (2X) Into Pitching Machine Harness Tubes And Lock Into Place With Push Pins.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-

WARNING!

  • Never allow a batter in the Batting Cage until the Heater Sports Pitching Machine has been sighted in and pitching at the desired target and at the right speed.
  • Make sure Heater Sports Pitching Machine is turned off and unplugged when attaching the Batting Cage Net Harness Tube to the Heater Sports Pitching Machine.
  • Make sure and disassemble the Xtender Batting Cage in stormy weather. The cage could break or blow over and cause property damage.
  • Make sure area around batting cage is clear of people except for batter and machine operator. The bodily injury could occur if proper safety precautions aren’t followed.

JOINING 2 CAGES (IF APPLICABLE)

  1. STEP 1: Fully assemble both batting cages and place them end-to-end 2 to 4 inches apart.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-Cage- \(8\)
  2. STEP 2: Match the red reinforced seams together where the cages meet. Using the extra support ropes weave the two cages together.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-Cage- \(9\)
  3. STEP 3: Using scissors, cut an opening in the netting where the stitched netting come together on both cages.
  4. STEP 4: After cutting the netting on both cages take the extra netting and attach it to the end of the cage opposite the Pitching Machine Harness. This extra netting will provide additional support and cushioning to the backstop area.Heater-SPORTS-XT299-Xtender-24-foot-Batting-Cage- \(10\)
