WARNING
To reduce risk of accidents and injury or death
Be Prepared
- Wear seat belt, motorcycle helmet, eye protection and protective gear.
- Keep your body completely inside the vehicle at all times. Keep both hands on the steering wheel. Be sure passenger is seated, belted, and holding onto the handholds.
Be Qualified and Responsible
- This vehicle is intended for use only by an operator 16 or older with a valid motor vehicle license.
- Passenger and driver must be able to place both feet flat on the floorboard while seated upright with their backs against the seat backs.
Avoid Rollovers and Crushing Injuries
- Use care when turning:
- Turning the steering wheel too far or too fast can result in a rollover or loss of control.
- Slow down before entering a turn.
- When making tight turns from a stop, or at slow speeds, avoid sudden or hard acceleration.
- Avoid sideways sliding, skidding, or fishtailing, and never do donuts.
- Drive straight up and down inclines, not across them, if crossing a hill is unavoidable, drive slowly and turn downhill immediately if you feel the vehicle may tip.
Abrupt maneuvers or aggressive driving have caused rollovers- even on flat, open ares
WARNING:
After installing this lift kit, the front wheels must be properly aligned.
Failure to properly align the front wheels may result in decreased ability to
control the Golf Cart which may result in a rollover or crash.
-
To begin, be sure to engage the parking brake and switch your cart to “off”. Also make sure Run/ Tow switch is in the “Tow” position. Raise cart with lift and support with jack stands under the frame.
-
(Optional) Detach front bumper for better access to spring by removing the two factory bolts closest to the edge of the frame. Retain bumper and hardware.
-
Using a 19mm Socket remove front wheels.
-
Using a 21mm Socket, remove and retain hub but discard factory flange nut.
Repeat on passenger side. -
Using a 18mm Socket, remove the nut from the king bolt. Push shock/clevis up and out of the way.
-
Remove and retain the cotter pin from the tie rod end, using an 18mm Socket and an 11/16” Wrench, remove nut from tie rod. Save for reinstallation later.
-
Using a 1/2” Socket, remove lower spindle bolt from leaf spring to free the King Pin as shown. Keep all pieces for reuse.
-
Remove the front spring & plate with a 1/2” Socket. Retain spring plate & hardware, discard spring.
Using a 9/16” Socket remove the spring alignment nut from the factory spring and attach it to the new Leaf Spring provided with your kit. Attach new Spring & factory plate using factory hardware.
Using a crisscross pattern sequence, torque bolts to 37 ft·lb (50 N·m). -
Attach the Tie Rod Mounts to the new Spindles using the supplied hardware as shown.
Note the Tie Rod Mount arm angles to theinside of the cart and the spindle is marked which side (P-pass, D-driver). -
Attach the King Pins to the new Spindles using the factory hardware.
Then slide the new Spindle onto the King Pin.
Pull the shock/clevis down onto the pin and secure with the retained factory nut. -
Attach the steering tie rod end to the new Spindle Mount and secure using retained factory nut and cotter pin.
-
Attach the factory front wheel hub to the new Spindle using the supplied castle nut and secure with cotter pin.
Install new wheels/tires using a 19mm socket and aftermarket 1/2” lug nuts. Torque the lug nuts to 55 ft-lbs
Repeat all of these steps on the other side.
Rear Lift Install
-
Chock front tires and lift the rear of the vehicle up with a floor jack. Place jack stands under the rear frame just in front of the forward mounts of the leaf springs.
Leave floor jack in place under motor to support weight during install.
Remove rear wheels using a 19mm socket.
NOTE: It is highly recommended to use rear Heavy Duty Leaf Springs if installing a seat kit or cargo box on the rear of your golf cart. The shackle extensions will not be enough to support the weight and will cause too much stress on the single leaf factory spring.
The following steps will show you how to swap out your rear springs to HD as well as the shackle extensions. -
Using a 5/8” Socket loosen the U-Bolts on the passenger side first.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the U-Bolts. It’s important to do one side at a time to avoid motor roll. Loosening but not removing the U-Bolts will make this easier when swapping the spring on the opposite side. -
Using a 5/8” Socket remove the driver side U-Bolts. Once the U-Bolts are removed you can remove the lower bushing and shock using a 9/16” Socket. Retain all hardware for reinstallation.
-
Using a 10mm socket and 13mm wrench remove hardware from rear leaf spring mount and upper shackle bolt. Retain hardware, discard shackles. *Check spring bushing for rust and wear. Replace if necessary.
-
Remove hardware from front leaf spring mount.
Install new HD leaf Spring to this mounting point only for now, we need to add the new rear shackles to the other end.
NOTE: When installing Club Car springs it is important to note that the center nut in the spring is actually offset to the rear of the cart and should be installed this way. -
Using the factory hardware attach the new Extended Shackes to the rear leaf spring mount and cart as shown.
Repeat steps 15-19 on the opposite side and tighten all components/hardware. -
Install new rear tires, remove rear jack stands, and gently lower cart down to the ground.
Install new wheels/tires using a 19mm socket and aftermarket 1/2” lug nuts. Torque the lug nuts to 55 ft-lbs
PLACE WARNING STICKER IN PLAIN SIGHT OF DRIVER AND PASSENGERS
Place the included warning label in a highly visible area on the vehicle
for all users to read before operating the vehicle (recommend foot board as
shown or steering wheel).
