CARSON MP-400 Micro Pic 120x-240x Pocket Microscope
Product Information
The MP-400 MicroPicTM Pocket Microscope is a portable microscope that offers magnification levels of 120x-240x. It is designed to provide optimum performance for various viewing objects. The microscope weighs 0.16 (excluding battery) and operates on 1 AA battery (not included). The exit pupil diameter is 0.6mm for low magnification and 0.3mm for high magnification. The microscope features LED illumination with low and high settings.
Accessories included with the microscope are a smartphone adapter clip and 1 blank slide with a coverslip.

Inserting Battery
To insert the battery, follow these steps:

Remove the base stand and slide the battery door down. Insert 1 AA battery (not included), following the polarity
indicators marked inside the battery compartment. -
Replace the door when finished.
Battery Warning: Use only alkaline batteries. Keep away from fire or excessive heat. Inspect the battery for corrosion or leakage. Insert in the direction indicated.Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
Product Usage Instructions
Using Microscope:

Remove the base stand.

Place the viewing object directly below the objective lens.
Note: The microscope must be placed flush to the viewing object to work properly. -
Press the LED button once to turn on the light on low setting,and twice for high setting. Pressing a third time will turn off the light.

Look through the eyepiece and rotate the focusing wheel slowly until the object is sharp and clear.

Adjust the zoom dial to the desired magnification and readjust the focusing wheel as needed. Note: For best clarity when zooming in, use the highest brightness setting.
Using Microscope with Base Stand:
To use the microscope with the base stand, follow these steps:
- Place the microscope into the base stand.
- Insert a prepared slide into the slot.
- Once positioned, follow steps 3-5 for using the microscope.
Making Custom Slides:
For Dry Specimens:
- Clean slides with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust.
- Place a few dry granules of your choice (salt, soil, a strand of hair, etc.) on a blank slide.
- Using an eye dropper (not included), put one drop of water on top of the specimen to hold it in place.
- Gently place the coverslip on top of the specimen and let it dry before viewing.
Important: Empty and dry the eye dropper after each use.
For Wet Specimens:
- Clean slides with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust.
- Sprinkle a drop of algae, pond, or dirty water, etc. on a blank slide.
- Place the coverslip on top of the specimen. No additional drop of water is needed. View immediately.
Important Safety Warning: To avoid permanent eye damage, do not look at the sun with the microscope or place the light microscope directly upon the human eye.
Note: If the viewing image is not centered or is not a complete round image, adjust the adapter clip to make sure it is centered over the camera.

USING ADAPTER CLIP
Important: Before inserting the smartphone into the adapter clip, determine the primary camera on the phone. Typically, the primary is a 1x wide-angle camera and the other camera(s) are secondary. For latest instructions, and for selecting primary camera for iPhone 13 Pro and later, visit carson.com/multicam
- Squeeze to open the smartphone adapter clip and slide the phone camera side down between the adapter arms.
- Align the primary camera lens and center within the circular space of the adapter clip.
- Attach the bottom side of adapter clip to top of microscope. It will click into place.
- Turn on the camera and follow steps for “Using Microscope.”
- Pinch the screen to enlarge the image. Take photos and videos to share with family and friends.
