V-TAC VT-81001 Microwave Sensor Ceiling Mount

Product Information

The product is a Microwave Sensor Ceiling Mount that is compatible with V-TAC LED lights. It has a detection range of up to 8 meters and a detection distance of 1-8 meters (radius), which can be adjusted. The sensor operates on an input power of AC 220-240V, 50/60 Hz and has a maximum rated load of 2000W (1000W + LED). The time delay for detection can be set according to user preferences. The detection moving speed ranges from 0.6 to 1.5 meters per second. The working temperature of the sensor is suitable for various environments.

The product has an HF system and an IP rating for protection against dust and water. The dimensions of the sensor are not specified in the manual.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the input power supply is AC 220-240V, 50/60 Hz.
  2. Identify a suitable location on the ceiling for mounting the sensor. The installation height should be considered for optimal performance.
  3. Connect the sensor to the power supply using appropriate electrical connections.
  4. If using V-TAC LED lights, ensure compatibility and connect them accordingly.
  5. Adjust the detection range as needed. This can be done by following the instructions provided in the manual.
  6. Set the desired time delay for detection, if required.
  7. Ensure that the ambient light conditions are suitable for the sensor’s operation.
  8. Test the sensor by moving within its detection range. Check if it detects motion accurately and activates the connected devices.
  9. Make any necessary adjustments to the sensor’s settings for optimal performance.

WARNING

  1. Please make sure to turn off the power before starting the installation.
  2. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician.
  3. For Indoor use only
  • This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household wastes.
  • Caution, risk of electric shock.

FUNCTION

  1. Can identify day and night: It can work in the daytime and at night when it is adjusted on the “sun” position (max). It can work in the ambient light less than 3LUX when it is adjusted on the “3” position (min). As for the adjustment pattern, please refer to the testing pattern.
  2. SENS adjustable: It can be adjusted according to using location. The detection distance of low sensitivity could be only 2m and high sensitivity could be 16m which fits for large room.
  3. Time-Delay is added continually: When it receives the second induction signal within the first induction, it will restart to time from the moment.
  4. Time–Delay is adjustable. It can be set according to the consumer’s desire. The minimum time is 10sec±3sec. The maximum is 12min±1min.

NOTE: the high-frequency output of the HF sensor is <0.2Mw- that is just one 5000th of the transmission power of a mobile phone or the output of a microwave oven, the baby can’t touch it.

INSTALLATION

  • Please move the upper cover with an anti-clockwise whirl as per the diagram on the right.
  • Connect the power and the load according to the connection-wire diagram.
  • Fix the bottom on the selected position with the inflated screw.
  • Install back the upper cover on the sensor, then you could switch on the power and test it.

CONNECTION-WIRE DIAGRAM

  • The wires come in and out from the bottom
  • The wires come in and out from the side

TEST

  • Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (10s). Turn the SENS knob clockwise on the maximum (+). Turn the LUX knob clockwise on the maximum (sun).
  • When you switch on the power, the light will be on at once. And 10sec±3sec later the light will be off automatically. Then if the sensor receives an induction signal again, it can work normally.
  • When the sensor receives the second induction signal within the first induction, it will restart to time from the moment.
  • Turn the LUX knob anti-clockwise on the minimum (3). If the ambient light is less than 3LUX (darkness), the inductor load could work when it receives an induction signal.

Note: when testing in daylight, please turn the LUX knob to ☼ the (SUN) position, otherwise the sensor lamp could not work!

NOTES

  • An electrician or experienced human can install it.
  • Can not be installed on the uneven and shaky surface
  • In front of the sensor, there shouldn’t be obstructive objects affecting detection.
  • Avoid installing it near the metal and glass which may affect the sensor.
  • For your safety, please don’t open the case if you find a hitch after installation.
  • In order to avoid unexpected damage of the product, please add a safe device of current 6A when installing the microwave sensor, for example, fuse, safe tube etc.

SOME PROBLEM AND SOLVED WAY

  1. The load doesn’t work:
    • Check the power and the load.
    • Whether the indicator light is turned on after sensing? If yes, please check the load.
    • If the indicator light is not on after sensing, please check if the working light corresponds to the ambient light.
    • Please check if the working voltage corresponds to the power source.
  2. The sensitivity is poor:
    • Please check if in front of the sensor, there shouldn’t be obstructive objects that affect to receiving the signals.
    • Please check if the signal source is in the detection fields.
    • Please check the installation height.
  3. The sensor can’t shut automatically the load:
    • If there are continual signals in the detection fields.
    • If the time delay is set to the longest.
    • If the power corresponds to the instruction.
