Product Usage Instructions

Charging at Home and On the Go

CHARGING AT HOME

Charging your new CUPRA Born at home is likely to become part of your everyday routine,so we’ve made it simple.
There are two options for home charging, either via a traditional three-pin plug or a specially installed wallbox (The Mode 3 DC cable is standard equipment). Ohme is CUPRA’s recommended supplier to  install a wallbox at your home andguide you through the complete home charging journey. Ohme have a range of chargers with features such as smar t scheduling to charge your CUPRA when the electricit y rates are at their lowest.

KNOW YOUR POWER SUPPLIES.
AC – Alternating Current
DC – Direct Current

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND A WALLBOX IS INSTALLED TO CHARGE YOUR CUPRA BORN?
While a three-pin socket can charge your new CUPRA Born at home, a home wallbox is recommended due to the high energy demands and the signif icantly faster charge time. A 7.2kW wallbox can charge your CUPRA Born three times faster than with a three-pin plug. A home wallbox installed by an accredited installer like Ohme ensures that your car receives afull night of uninterrupted fast charge.

OZEV EVHS GRANT
You could be eligible for a £ 350 OZEV (Of f ice for Zero Emission Vehicles) grant towards the cost of your home wallbox. CUPRA has par tnered with Ohme, check your eligibilit y here.

CHARGING ON THE GO.

While you’re out on the road, you can choose from a number of public charging points to top up your new CUPRA Born. Zap Map is a great website (zap-map.com) to locate suitable chargers across the UK.

COMBINED CHARGING SYSTEM (CCS).
AC & DC rapid charging, is available at most public charging stations. Rapid chargers are the fastest way to charge an EV vehicle and of ten found in motorway services or in locations close to main roads. The CUPRA Born is equipped with CCS (combined charging system), which supplies high power direct or alternating (DC/AC) to charge a batter y to 80% quickly.

REGENERATIVE BRAKING.
This is the recover y of energy usually lost when braking. CUPRA Born optimises braking energy to prolongits batter y life and not reduce your range.

VEHICLE EXCISE DUTY

All new vehicles are subject to a form of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) based on the type of fuel the vehicle uses and its carbon dioxide (CO2) emission level, measured in grams per kilometre (g/km). The table below illustrates the duty you will pay based on the DVLA bandings.
The standard rate for Petrol and Diesel is £180 and £170 for Alternative Fuel Vehicles. Please be aware vehicles priced in excess of £40,000 (when combining the MDP (Manufacturer’s Direct Price) (incl. VAT) and any additional options you select) will incur an additional £390 a year in vehicletax for Petrol and Diesel cars, and £390 for Alternative Fuel Cars.

YOUR TYRE LABEL

They may not be the first part of your CUPRA you notice, but your tyres play a vital role in keeping you on the road. Your EU tyre label tells you everything you need to know.
Due to the variation of tyres that may be fitted during production, the configurator will show multiple tyre labels. It is not possible to select a specific tyre when ordering a vehicle. You’ll see more in-depth information on your tyres while configuring your car. Click here to start building your CUPRA now

  • ENERGY EFFICIENCY
This is a measure of ‘rolling resistance’ – in other words, the amount of energy lost through motion.
The lower the rolling resistance, the lower your energy consumption, with tyres rated as class A being the most efficient.

  • WET GRIP
Rigorous testing ensures your tyres give great handling and performance in all conditions. Wet grip specifically measures how well you can brake in wet conditions, with grade A giving the shortest stopping distance.

  • EXTERNAL NOISE
Tyres are carefully measured so you know exactly how much noise they’ll make while driving. If decibels don’t mean a lot to you, don’t worry. Each tyre also falls into a noise class-A being the quietest and C the loudest.

WARRANTIES

CUPRA-V1-BORN-FIG \(22\) Three-year warranty
All new CUPRAs registered in the UK come with a three-year/60,000 miles warranty, which protects your car against the failure of most mechanical and electrical components due to manufacturing defects. This comprises a two-year manufacturer’s warranty with unlimited mileage, plus a further one year up to a maximum of 60,000 miles (whichever is soonest).

Retailer warranty
Should the mileage exceed 60,000 miles within the first two years, the manufacturer’s two-year warranty will still be valid. If an additional warranty for subsequent years or higher mileage is desired, it may be purchased from an authorised CUPRA Retailer or repairer, however, this additional warranty must be purchased before the mileage reaches 60,000. Cover is subject to the car being serviced and maintained according to the manufacturer’s technical guidelines. Full details of the three-year warranty are available from your CUPRA Retailer or repairer.

CUPRA EXTENDED MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
If you take out a CUPRA Extended Manufacturer Warranty before your new car is registered, you’ll get exactly the same level of cover as the three-year warranty, but for up to five years. You can choose a CUPRA Extended Manufacturer Warranty to last until the end of the 4th year/up to 75,000 miles or until the end of the 5th year/up to 90,000 miles (whichever is soonest). Please note: CUPRA Extended Manufacturer Warranty products are only available at the time of ordering your new CUPRA.

BATTERY WARRANTY
The batteries for battery electric vehicles (BEV) are warranted against all defects in materials and workmanship for eight years or up to 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
A gradual reduction in battery energy content over time is a normal feature of high voltage battery and does not constitute a warrantable defect. For BEVs, the battery energy content degradation warranty lasts for eight years or up to 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Where the battery energy content of the high voltage battery  is measured by a CUPRA authorised repairer and is found to be less than 70% during the warranty period, then it will be repaired or replaced under warranty subject to conditions. For full details, please go to the CUPRA UK website.

THREE-YEAR PAINT WARRANTY
The paintwork of all models featured in this price list is covered against manufacturing defects for a period of three years. Naturally, the vehicle must be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions which will be found in your vehicle handbook. Please consult your authorised CUPRA Retailer or repairer for full warranty details.

TWELVE-Y E AR BODY PROTECTION WARRANTY
The internal body sections and panels of the models featured in this price list are covered against corrosion originating from internal cavities for twelve years. Naturally, the vehicle must
be cared for in compliance with the operating instructions which will be found in your vehicle handbook. Please consult your authorised CUPRA Retailer or repairer for full warranty details.

CUPRA PARTS WARRANTY
CUPRA parts and accessories supplied after new vehicle delivery are covered by our 24 months parts warranty.

CUPRA ROADSIDE A SSISTANCE (INCLUDING EUROPEAN COVER)
Any new CUPRA purchased and registered in the UK from an authorised CUPRA Retailer, is covered free by CUPRA Assistance (including European cover) for roadside repairs or recovery to an authorised repairer for a term of two years. Terms and conditions apply.
