Product Information
The SDR-8200/8100M IrDA UHF 2-Way Sync Receiver Module is a receiver module manufactured by CHIAYO ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. It is designed to synchronize with a transmitter and receive audio signals wirelessly. The receiver module features an LCD display, buttons for channel selection and settings, an IrDA synchronizing button, a power switch/volume control, an IR sensor area, RF and audio signal meters, diversity A/B antenna connectors, and a transmitter battery power indicator.
Product Usage Instructions
- Turn on the power and the LCD display will show the last stored channel and frequency.
- Select a channel on the receiver that corresponds to the transmitter.
- When the transmitter is turned on, the A/B diversity antenna symbol will appear to denote that it is connected.
- To synchronize the receiver and transmitter:
- Align the infrared areas of the receiver and transmitter within 10~30cm.
- Press the synchronizing button on the transmitter. The transmitter’s LED will grow to denote the synchronizing signal transmitted.
- The channel number on the receiver’s LED will become the same as the transmitter’s, indicating successful synchronization.
- The channel number on the transmitter’s LCD will also become the same as the receiver’s, indicating successful synchronization.
- If synchronization fails, ensure that the IR sensor panels are aligned and facing each other, and try again within 10~30cm of distance.
- To scan for a cleaner channel:
- Press the (up) or (down) button to make the frequency icon appear on the bottom of the LCD display.
- Hold the SET button until the frequency icon flashes to indicate readiness for setting.
- Press the (up) or (down) button to find and locate a clear, interference-free channel.
- After choosing a channel, press the SET button or wait 5 seconds to store the setting.
- To adjust the squelch level:
- Press the (up) or (down) button to turn to the squelch setting page.
- Hold the SET button until the squelch icon flashes to indicate readiness for setting.
- Press the (up) or (down) button to select a new squelch level between 1 and 10.
- After choosing a level, press the SET button or wait 5 seconds to store the setting.
- Note that increasing the squelch level will reduce the reception distance. It is recommended to choose the lowest level that eliminates interference. If interference persists, reset the squelch level and use the scan function to find an interference-free channel.

Channel synchronizing
Channel synchronizing between receiver and transmitter
Align infrared areas of the receiver and transmitter within 10~30cm.
Changing the receiver’s channel
- Press the synchronizing button of the transmitter.
- The transmitter’s LED will grow to denote the synchronizing signal transmitted.
- The channel number on the receiver’s LED will become the same as the transmitter’s, which means the receiver has been successfully synchronized.
Changing the transmitter’s channel
- Press the SYNC button on the receiver.
- The transmitter’s LED will grow to denote the synchronizing signal received.
- The channel number on the transmitter’s LCD will become the same as the receiver’s, which means the transmitter has been successfully synchronized.
If it doesn’t work check that you have the IR sensor panels aligned, that they are facing each other, devices are within 10~30cm of each other, and try again.
CHANNEL SCANNING
For an interference- free operation, a cleaner channel might be necessary if the current one receives too much interference. To operate the scanning:
- Press ▲(up) or ▼(down) button to make the frequency icon appear on the bottom.
- Hold SET button until this icon flashes to denote readiness for setting.
- Press ▲(up) or ▼(down) button to find and locate a clear, interference- free channel.
- After a channel is chosen, press SET button or wait 5 seconds to store the setting.
SQUELCH (SQ) setting
When interference is encountered try reducing the sensitivity of the
receiver, thus less susceptible to interference. To operate the squelch
setting:
- Press ▲the (up) or ▼(down) button to turn to the squelch setting page.
- Hold the SET button until this icon flashes to denote readiness for setting.
- Press ▲the (up) or ▼(down) button to select a new squelch level between 1 and 10.
- After a level is chosen, press the SET button or wait 5 seconds to store the setting.
Since increasing the squelch level will also reduce the reception distance, it’s recommended to choose the lowest level that can eliminate the interference. If this still does not solve the problem it means this frequency is not suitable. Adjust the squelch back to its preset level and use the scan function to locate a clear, interference-free channel.
