The PT00170793 Secure RFID Reader is a modular device that can be installed into host devices. It is designed to securely read RFID tags and is commonly used for identification and tracking purposes.

Installation Information
To install the PT00170793 Secure RFID Reader into a host device, please follow the instructions below

Mechanical Mounting

1. Ensure that the host system supports the hole mounting shown in the figure provided in the user manual.
2. Make sure that there are no metallic surfaces between the target RFID tag and the antenna on the black housing side of the module. The antenna should be planar to the black housing.
3. Install the module using all three mounting points, using the hardware designated by the host mounting points.

Electrical Connection

1. The module supports connection to Molex 5102 Series 8-pin connectors, such as 53261-0871.
2. Connect the module to the host system, ensuring that the following electrical connections are maintained
   • Pin 1 : [Description of pin 1 connection]
   • Pin 2 : [Description of pin 2 connection]
   • Pin 3 : [Description of pin 3 connection]
   • Pin 4 : [Description of pin 4 connection]
   • Pin 5 : [Description of pin 5 connection]
   • Pin 6 : [Description of pin 6 connection]
   • Pin 7 : [Description of pin 7 connection]
   • Pin 8 : [Description of pin 8 connection]

Installation Information

The PT00170793 Secure RFID Reader (referred to as module) may be installed into host devices using the guidance and steps provided below.

Mechanical Mounting

• The host system must support the hole mounting as shown in the figure below.
• Ensure there are no metallic surfaces between the target RFID tag and the antenna on the black housing side of the module. The antenna is planar to the black housing.
• Install the module using all three mounting points using hardware as designated by the host mounting points.

Electrical Connection

• The module supports connection to Molex 5102 Series 8-pin such as 53261-0871.
• Connect module to the host system ensuring the following electrical connections are maintained: Pin – 1 Reset Input (Active Low) from Host
  • Pin – 2 Ground – Supply and signal ground
  • Pin – 3 RS-485 TX+ Positive RS-485 transmit pin – RX+ on host
  • Pin – 4 RS-485 TX- Negative RS-485 transmit pin – RX- on host
  • Pin – 5 Power +5V ± 0.25V, Max 500mA Power input
  • Pin – 6 Baud Rate Selection
  • Pin – 7 RS-485 RX+ Positive RS-485 receive pin – TX+ on host
  • Pin – 8 RS-485 RX- Negative RS-485 receive pin – TX- on host
