AeoTec Zi-Stick USB Controller
Product Information
The Zi-Stick is a self-powered Zigbee 3.0 USB Adapter developed by Aeotec. It is designed to control actuators and sensors in a Zigbee 3.0 Network. The technical specifications of the Zi-Stick can be viewed here.

- Avoid direct sunlight or heat exposure.
- Improper battery use may damage the product.
- The Zi-Stick is intended for indoor use in dry locations only.
Do not use it in damp, moist, and/or wet locations.
Product Usage Instructions
Quick Start
To use the Zi-Stick when it is attached to a host controller (PC) as a primary controller, follow these steps:

Plug the Zi-Stick into a host controller (e.g., PC, Mac, RPi).
- For Windows: Open Device Manager and go to Ports (COM & LPT). The Zi-Stick will be listed as a COMX device (where X can be a number value range of 0 – 1000).
- For Linux: Open your command prompt and type “dmesg | grep tty” to get a list of all tty devices connected. The Zi-Stick will show as a ttyUSB0 device.
- For OSX: Choose Apple > System Preferences, then click
Network. You can find the Zi-Stick listed as a USB Modem device/dev/cu.usbmodem.

Open the selected third-party software that you want to use with the Zi-Stick.
- For instructions on using Home Assistant, refer to Home Assistant installation.
- For instructions on using OpenHAB, refer to OpenHAB installation.

In most cases, devices already paired with the Zi-Stick network will automatically show up in the software’s interface. If necessary, you may need to rescan the Zi-Stick to detect devices it has not previously detected.
Advanced
In most cases, you do not need to install drivers for the Zi-Stick as most operating systems have the necessary drivers. However, if the drivers are not installed on your OS, you can find the serial bridge drivers here.

Quick start
The following will step you through using Zi-Stick when it is attached to a
host controller (PC) as a primary controller.
Please make sure the host controller is pre-installed; this includes any
drivers that the corresponding OS may need. In most cases, the host controller
automatically installs the required USB drivers.
If not, the USB driver can be downloaded from
www.silabs.com (https://www.silabs.com/) part
CP2102N which can be found here: SiLabs CP2102N Driver

- Plug Zi-Stick into a host controller (that can be a PC, Mac, RPi, etc).

In most cases, any devices already paired with Zi-Stick network will automatically show up in the software’s interface, it may require you to rescan the Zi-Stick in order to re-detect devices it has not detected before.

- Typically you do not need to install drivers, most operating systems will have the drivers necessary to run the Zi-Stick.
