Introduction
The typical walkie-talkie looks like a telephone handset with an antenna put on top, a speaker built into one end, and a microphone built into the other (with some devices the speaker also doubles as the microphone). To speak, they are raised to the face. A half-duplex communication device is a walkie-talkie. Two-way radios are high-end, feature-rich radios intended for commercial users, such as companies with big sites, hospitals, security, event management, and other scenarios where a quality device is necessary, according to the majority of professional users.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the range?
That depends on the power level you have it set for. The radio can be set to 2 watts, or 5 watts, or 8 watts. When set to 8 watts the typical, line of sight, range will be about 5 miles. With lower power setting or obstructions between radios the range will decrease accordingly. Being a ham radio operator I can contact a ham repeater that is on a hill top about 10 miles away. So the actual answer is “the range varies under varying conditions.
Can I leave these on in the dock and hear them?
We only used the docks for charging.

You have to be in same channel.

Where can i buy additional battery packs? is there a charger that uses usb for these so i can charge them off a portable power bank if needed?
There is no separate battery pack. Rechargeable batteries are sealed within the walkie talkie unit itself. To recharge the unit it is placed on a charging stand which is powered by standard 117 v AC. There is no USB connection/connector.
Is there a charging station available that would hold multiple units of this Walkie talkie?
I’m not aware of one oh, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist keep searching

Yes they can work without the antenna, but the signal decreases significantly if no antenna is installed.

Yes! They worked great for the 6 of us, on the ship, even in the elevators, but not in the medical center. We had to change channels a few times. They also worked in the towns in Alaska, when we were on excursions.
