Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your dealer or your service centre.

Safety instructions

Read the instruction manual carefully before using this device, especially the safety instructions, and keep the instruction manual for future use. Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.

about the power supply

  • Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your main supply. Only insert the mains plug into a socket when the appliance is switched off.
  • Keep the cable and the appliance away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture, and liquids. Do not touch the mains plug when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands. Appliance components carrying voltage may not come into contact with liquid.
  • Do not take hold of a device if it falls into the water. Pull out the power plug from the socket immediately. Connect the unit so that the power plug is freely accessible.
  • Always switch off the appliance after use with the buttons on the control unit and unplug the power plug.
  • To disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable!
  • Do not carry, pull or twist the device on the cable. You must not continue to use the unit if the lead or the plug is damaged.
  • If the power supply cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by medicine, an authorized dealer, or by qualified personnel.
  • The unit’s cables and control unit can create tangling, strangulation, tripping or stepping hazards if not properly arranged. The user must ensure that excess cable ties and electrical wiring are safely routed.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • Do not use this unit to supplement or replace medical treatment. Chronic complaints and symptoms may be made worse.

  • Do not use the massage mat MM 825, or only after consulting your doctor, if:

    – you suffer from one or more of the following illnesses and complaints: Circulation disorders, varicose veins, open wounds, bruises, broken skin, and inflammation of the veins.

  • Persons, which are insensitive to heat, should be careful using this appliance.

  • Before using the massager, consult your doctor regarding any unexplained pain, if you are undergoing medical treatment or using medical equipment.

before using the unit

  • Check the plug, the cable, and the massage mat for damage before each use. Do not attempt to use a defective unit.
  • Do not use the appliance if it, or the power cord show signs of damage, if it is not in perfect working order, or if it has been dropped or become damp. In order to prevent hazards, always send the unit into the service center.

operating the unit

  • The device must only be used for its intended purpose as described in the instruction manual.

  • Do not use the appliance while you are asleep or when you are lying in bed.
  • Never use the massage mat if it is folded up or crumpled.
  • Do not allow the massage mat to come into contact with pointed or sharp objects.
  • Do not stand on the unit.
  • The maximum operating time for one session is 15 minutes. Prolonged use reduces the service life of the appliance.
  • Very long periods of use can lead to overheating. So after continuously operating for 15 minutes, user should stop it for at least 15 minutes before using it again.
  • Never put the unit down next to an electric stove or other sources of heat.
  • Do not cover up the appliance when it is switched on. Never use it under blankets or cushions. There is a risk of fire, electric shock or injury..

maintenance and cleaning

  • The unit is maintenance free. If a fault does occur, just check whether the mains power plug is properly connected.
  • You may only clean the device yourself. If the device malfunctions please do not repair it yourself as this leads to the automatic expiry of all guarantee rights. Ask your specialist dealer and have repairs carried out by the service only.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or other fluids.

Range of application
The use of the medisana massage mat MM 825 will improve your wellbeing after a stressful day. The massage effect is particularly useful for treating tense muscles and tired tissue. The appliance provides pleasant relaxation for overcoming everyday stress. 4 massage zones (Upper back, Lower back, Thighs, Lower legs) can be regulated seperately. The combination of massage and additional heating function provides an effective and relaxing treatment. Their settings can be comfortably adjusted by means of the easy-to- andle control unit.

CAUTION
Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.

Operation

  1. Connect the appliance to the mains outlet.

  2. Press the On-/Off-button “ “ 1 and all massage zones and the heat function will be activated.

  3. Press the zone selection buttons repeatedly (7 to 10) according to your personal preference to activate/deactivate the corresponding massage for the selected zone. You may select only one zone or multiple zones for the massage.

  4. Press the button multiple times changes the massage intensity or deactivates the massage zone: Weak massage intensity: The left LED over a zone selection button lights up in green. Strong massage intensity: The right LED over a zone selection button lights up in green. Deactivated massage zone: None of the LEDs is alight.

  5. Massage mode selection: With the massage mode selector button 6 you can choose one of 5 possible massage modes:

  6. Normal: Regular vibration massage with constant intensity and vibration frequency.

  7. Pulsating: Pulse vibration massage, automatically changes the intensity and frequency of the massage.

  8. Stream vibration massage: Automatically changes intensity and vibration frequency, feels like a massage by “running water”.

  9. Alternation mode A : Automatic alternation of massage zones in short intervals: Upper & Lower back vibration massage first, then automatically switches to Thighs & Lower legs and so on….

  10. Alternation mode B: Like alternation mode A, but alternates between massage zones Upper back / Lower Legs and Lower back / Thighs.
    The respective massage mode is indicated by the green LED lights over the Massage mode selector button 6 (The 1st LED for Mode 1, the 2nd LED for Mode 2 and so on). Each time you change the massage mode, the massage intensity for all massage zones will automatically be set to intensity 1 (weak intensity).

  11. HEAT function button: Press this button at any massage mode to additionally switch on the heating function. When the heating function is activated, the red LED over the Heat function button 5 will light up. The heating can only be applied to the Lower back area. Press the heat function button again to deactivate the Lower back heating.

  12. Press the On-/Off-button “ “ 1 to switch off the appliance. The appliance will switch off automatically after approx. 15 minutes of continuous use.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Before cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.
  • Clean the massage mat with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes, aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the unit dry with a clean dry cloth.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance.
  • Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.
  • Undo any kinks in the cable.
  • Take care to roll up the mains lead to avoid damaging it.
  • You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

Disposal
This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste. All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

  1. The warranty period for medisana products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

  2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.

  3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.

  4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
    a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions.
    b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
    c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
    d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

  5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
