Please read the instructions carefully.
If the warnings are not followed, your shoes may not come out of the pedals when you intend or they may come out unexpectedly or accidentally, and severe injury may result.

IMPORTANT NOTES

FOR ALL PEDALS:

  1. Read these instructions carefully before using this product.
  2. Always ensure pedal axles are tightly secured to crank arms before each ride.
  3. Loose, worn or damaged parts may lead to injury.
  4. If the pedals are used on public roads, appropriate reflectors must be applied.
  5. Consult a bicycle dealer or the manufacturer (https://tatze-bike.com/pages/kontakt) if you have any questions or doubts to follow the procedures.

LIMITED WARRANTY

  1. This product is warranted under normal use against manufacturing and material defects, for the original purchaser and for one year from the date of purchase.
  2. The user assumes all risks of personal injury, damage to or failure of the product when it is used in stunt or acrobatic jumps or similar activities.
  3. This warranty does not cover any incidental or consequential damages, such as personal injury or other damage resulting from accident, neglect, misuse, abuse, modification, normal wear and tear, improper assembly or maintenance.
  4. When returning a defective TATZE product for warranty purposes, the claimant must provide proof of purchase and a written description of damages.
  5. There are no other warranties implied except this express limited warranty.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

FOR ALL PEDALS:

  1. Pedals need to be serviced if:
    1.1. rotating pedal emits noise
    1.2. rotation by hand feels rough
    1.3. there is a play in the bearings

  2. The bearings should be cleaned and regreased at least once every 12 months, or at least once every 6 months if riding predominantly in wet conditions. Do this as shown in Figure 2.

  3. Damaged bearings should be replaced.

  4. Replace pedals with damaged axles or pedal bodies.

  5. Damaged or heavily worn PINs must be replaced with the supplied spare pins. The tightening torque is 5 Nm.

INSTALLATION AND SETTINGS

A) ATTACH PEDALS TO THE CRANK
The right pedal is installed in a clockwise and the left pedal in a counterclockwise direction.

  1. Lightly lubricate axle threads with assembly paste.
  2. Attach the axle to the thread of the crank and tighten it from the other side with a 6mm Allen key and a torque of 33 Nm.

A. COMPONENTS:

  1. Pedal body
  2. Pedal axle
  3. PINs

TATZE Mountainbike Pedale - COMPONENTS B. SUPPLIED SPARE PARTS AND TOOLS:

  1. PINs (2x)
  2. Hex key (1x)

C. REQIRED TOOLS:

  1. Allen key 6mm
  2. Hex key 4mm

D. PEDAL SERVICE:

  1. Unscrew end cap (1)

  2. Turn the axle (7) against the hexagon nut (2)
    ATTENTION: left pedal=>right-hand thread, right pedal=>left-hand thread

  3. Pull the axle (7) out of the pedal body

  4. Remove the seal (6)

  5. Clean all parts properly

  6. Apply grease to the bushing (8)

  7. Place the seal (6) on the axle

  8. Slowly push the axle into the pedal body with a slight twisting motion

  9. Turn the axle (7) with 10 Nm against the hexagon nut (2)
    ATTENTION: left pedal=>right-hand thread, right pedal=>left-hand thread (don’t forget to insert washer (3)!)

  10. Screw in end cap (1) with 2,5 Nm

  11. Final Check: The axle must be smooth and firmly connected to the pedal body!
