Freedompro Easykon for KNX
Easykon for KNX is an electronic DIN rail case device, designed to control KNX
installations with apps and voice assistants from Apple, Google, Amazon, IFTTT
and Home Assistant. With Easykon lights, shutters, sensors, thermostats and
many other KNX devices become easy and safer to use. You will be able to
control your accessories remotely as well, creating scenes and automations
according to your needs and preferences.
How to install Easykon for KNX
- Hook Easykon for KNX to the DIN bar of the electrical panel;
- Connect the 12/24 V 0.1 AC/DC power cable to the upper left connector;
- Connect the Ethernet cable to the upper right connector;
- Connect the KNX bus cables following the colour of the connector on the lower side;
- Check the correctness of the cabling and reconnect the power supply.
Map the accessories
- Access the Easykon for KNX web interface;
- For each accessory, choose a category and enter a name that you will use with the different platforms;
- Complete the parameters with the group addresses of Command and Status and save.
You can also import the .knxproj or .xml file generated in ETS, view the structure of your KNX project and drag the group address directly in the web interface for even faster configuration.
Pairing with Apple HomeKit
Follow these steps to carry out the pairing:
- Open the application Apple Home on your Apple device;
- Make sure you have selected the House in which you want to add the accessories connected to Easykon;
- Touch “Add accessory” or the “+”;
- Use the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to scan the eight-digit HomeKit code, or QR code on the Easykon for KNX;
- Follow the directions to complete the configuration.
Pairing with Google
Follow these steps to control your KNX system with Google:
- Open the Google Home App available for Android and iOS;
- Make sure you have selected the right proïle to which you want to add the House and your Easykon;
- Make sure you have selected the House in which you want to add the accessories connected to Easykon;
- Press the +button and select the Conïgure device;
- Select Have you already conï guard something?;
- Search for “Freedompro among the services listed;
- Use your Freedompro proïle, logging in with Google or Facebook, to carry out the pairing with Google Cloud.
Pairing with Amazon Alexa
Follow these steps to control KNX with Amazon Alexa:
- Open the Amazon Alexa application available for Android and iOS;
- Click on the icon “Devices” in the menu at the bottom and select “Skill for the smart home”;
- Select “Enable smart home skill”;
- Search for “Freedompro” among the services listed and click on “Enable use”;
- Use your Freedompro profile, by logging in with Google or Facebook, to pair with the Amazon Alexa Cloud.
Pairing with IFTTT
Follow these steps to pair IFTTT with the Freedom service:
- Go to the IFTTT site;
- Log in with your IFTTT account;
- Click on “Explore” and search and select “Freedom”;
- Press on “Connect”;
- Log in with your Freedompro Cloud account;
- Click on “Allow” to immediately start to create your automation.
Once you have paired the Freedom service, you will be able to choose among the accessories mapped inside your Easykon as triggers and actions and create any automation you want.
Pairing with Home Assistant
Follow the steps below to pair Home Assistant with the Freedom service:
- Get the API key from the Freedom Cloud; Access the Home Assistant web interface;
- Log in with your Home Assistant credentials;
- In the sidebar click on “Configuration”;
- From the configuration menu select: “Integrations”;
- In the bottom right-hand corner, click on the
- “Add Integrations” button;
- From the list, search for and select “Freedom”;
- Enter the API key you copied from the profile Freedompro Cloud.
