Product Usage Instructions

Before using the LX700W, it is important to follow these instructions:

  1. Ensure the device is installed and used in accordance with the  provided instructions to avoid harmful interference to radio communications.
  2. If the device causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, try the following measures to correct the interference:
    • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
    • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
    • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a different circuit from the receiver.
    • Consult the dealer or a radio/TV technician for assistance.
  3. Do not make any changes or modifications to the device that are not expressly approved by the responsible compliance authority, as it may void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
  4. Ensure a minimum distance of 20 centimeters between the device’s radiator and your body to comply with FCC RF radiationexposure limits.
  5. Follow the instructions provided by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (IC) for operation in Canada to prevent interference and maintain desired device operation.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not use existing ear tag holes. Asplication of the Tac in these existina holes could lead todamaging the ear.
  • Tag pins are sharp. Please exercise caution when handling.
  • The Smart Applicator is designed application of the tag.
  • The Tags are Smart Tags and requiies the Smart Apolicator.

BEFORE APPLICATION

  • Before Activating ensure the Tag  is fully charged.Fully charge tass for 3 full days in direct sunlight. for up to a week in cold climates) Use the Practice (Red) Tag to ensure the rubber grips are seated correctly for alignment.

  • STEP 1
    Dip or spray the secondary component with sterilisingsolution. Use antiseptic solution and recommended dilution. Failure to do so may cause irritation.

  • STEP 2
    Slide the primary componen: into the applicator so that the redLED light flashes. Slide secondary componen: into the applicator. ensuing the  pins face towards the two (2) hole side of the primary component. The flashing LED light indicates activation.

  • STEP 3
    Apply Tag to an ear with no other tags for optimal application. If another tag is present, ensure the tag has sufficient space for the application not to be impeded.  The correct position is withthe primary component on the outside of the ear and the secondary component is  visible on the inside of the ear.

  • STEP 4
    On the right or left ear (deperding on the regulatory requirements) locate the correct position to insert the Tag, in tie middle areaof the ear where the thickness is mostuniform and between the twovisible cartilage(tendons). Squeeze the trigger until there is an audible click. Tip: check that both pins have engaged.

  • STEP 5
    To release the Tag from the Applicator, release the applicator trigger, pull down and away.

The steps involved in discovering, connecting to, and upgrading a Ceres Tag device over the air (OTA).
Important
Steps outside discovering, connecting to, and upgrading a Ceres Tag device OTA are not included in this procedure.
Install & Configure Application on phone
NOTE: It is preferable to do this on an Android phone, as the UUID that is advertised by the devices is obfuscated by an iPhone before being displayed, whereas using an Android, the UUID displayed will match the BTMac address of the device so you can correlate it to the TagDetails.Download and install the nRF Connect Application from Google Play or Apple Store. nRF Connect for Mobile:

Discover and connect to device
Once installed, you can use the application to discover any Ceres Tag devices within Bluetooth range. On an Android device will be able to identify them by their BTMac address. If you are using an iOS device, you will not be able to cross check this, but you will still be able to seeand connect to devices in range.
Upgrade device
Once you have been able to see and connect to a device, you can now upgrade it.

  1. You should have been provided with a .bin file, copy this to your phone.
  2. Scan for devices using nRF connect
  3. Create a GATT connection to the device you want to upgrade by clicking “Connect”
  4. Go to the DFU tab
  5. Select the .bin file as the upload image
  6. Click “start” and wait for the progress to complete

The upload process will take about 2 minutes, the closer your phone is to the device the faster this will be and the less likely it is to be interrupted.
