Product Information

The product being discussed in the user manual is the Retrofit Conel with Aeron Actuator. It provides instructions for retrofitting the Conel system with the Aeron Actuator. The manual mentions two options for the retrofit: Standalone system retrofit and Keypad system retrofit. It also specifies that there are options available for both existing systems and new systems. The Standalone system offers a standalone option for both the Conel and Aeron Actuator. The Keypad system provides a keypad option for both the Conel and Aeron Actuator. The manual also provides wiring instructions for the Standalone system and Keypad system. It states that a power supply of 24V DC1A is required. The wiring circuit guide mentions that a 24V DC transformer must be used to power the Aeron Actuator. It also suggests that the existing standalone Conel 24VDC transformer can be retained and the existing wiring can be reused for the Aeron power supply. The mechanical installation instructions include steps to remove the Conel sash bracket from the window, remove pivot brackets or fixing screws, and follow the Aeron window actuator installation instructions. It also advises restricting the opening length of the Aeron Actuator to match the Conel as closely as possible. Additionally, the manual mentions that a wireless hub needs to be connected with the Aeron actuators using a remote or Yale Home app. It provides notes regarding filling existing screw holes, drilling new holes with care to avoid damaging the glazing/glass, limitations of Aeron Actuator with Conel wall switch setup and keypad, and the requirement of a new rain sensor and rain sensor adaptor for the Aeron system.

Product Usage Instructions

Standalone System Retrofit

To retrofit the Conel system with the Aeron Actuator using the Standalone system option, follow these instructions:

  1. Determine if an AC or DC transformer is being used for the Conel system.
  2. Ensure a 24V DC transformer is used to power the Aeron Actuator.
  3. If there is an existing standalone Conel 24VDC transformer, it can be retained.
  4. The existing wiring can be reused for the Aeron power supply.
  5. Determine the Conel chain opening length (150mm or 250mm).
  6. Turn off the system power.
  7. Disconnect the power supply cables from Conel.
  8. Remove the wall switch cover and disconnect/bypass power cables from switches connecting directly to the actuators.
  9. Connect the power cable to the Aeron window operator. Extend power cables if required.

Mechanical Installation for Standalone System Retrofit

Follow these steps for mechanical installation:

  1. Unscrew/remove the Conel sash bracket from the window.
  2. Remove pivot brackets or fixing screws and remove Conel from the window sill.
  3. Follow the Aeron window actuator installation instructions to install the Aeron Actuator.
  4. Once the Aeron Actuator is installed, restrict its opening length to match the Conel as closely as possible. (For example, 150mm Conel = 100mm Aeron, 250mm Conel = 200mm Aeron window opening).
  5. Connect the wireless hub with Aeron actuators using a remote or Yale Home app. Refer to the quick start guide for further instructions.

Keypad System Retrofit

To retrofit the Conel system with the Aeron Actuator using the Keypad system option, follow these instructions:

  1. Using a 24VDC transformer, connect it to the Aeron actuators. Extend power cables if required.

Mechanical Installation for Keypad System Retrofit

Follow these steps for mechanical installation:

  1. Unscrew/remove the Conel sash bracket from the window.
  2. Remove the pivot bracket and take out Conel from the window sill.
