This product is a Reed Horizontal Bend that is used for tape lighting installations. It is designed to provide flexible lighting options and can be mounted using a mounting channel (purchased separately).
The product requires additional parts/tools for installation, including a power drill, butt splice connectors, #4 flat head screws, and isopropyl alcohol & primer 94 (not provided).
Product Usage Instructions
- Determine the installation location Decide where you want to install the tape lighting. It can be attached using the adhesive on the back or with a mounting channel.
- Clean the surface with a mixture of 50% water and 50% isopropyl alcohol. Let the surface dry.
- Apply Primer 94 as recommended by 3M*. Failure to follow the surface preparation guidelines will void the warranty.
- If using a mounting channel, ensure screws are used every 12 inches. If there is adhesive on the back of the light, remove it before installing in the channel.
- Wire the light Refer to the wiring diagrams provided below to correctly wire the tape light.
- Tape Light Single Color Reed:
- Black (-) wire should be connected to the negative terminal.
- Red (+) wire should be connected to the positive terminal.
- Tape Light RGB Reed:
- Red (-), Green (-), and Blue (-) wires should be connected to the negative terminal.
- Black (+) wire should be connected to the positive terminal.
- Refer to the provided RGB Controller (sold separately) for additional wiring instructions.
- Addressable Reed Light:
- Orange (D)* wire is the data line.
- Red (+) wire should be connected to the positive terminal.
- Black (-) wire should be connected to the negative terminal.
- Refer to the provided Addressable RGB Controller and Driver for additional wiring instructions.
- Considerations for installation Please keep the following considerations in mind to ensure a successful installation:
- The flexible light cannot be field cut as it will void the warranty.
- Do not horizontally bend the light to a radius of less than 11.8 inches.
- Do not axial bend the light to a height of more than 0.312 inches within a 0.78-inch segment.
- Do not bend the light to a radius of less than 0.59 inches in axis segments.
- Do not bend the light right at the solder joint. Only bend the wire.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Disconnect power before installing, adding or changing any component.
- To avoid a hazard to children, account for all parts and destroy all packing materials.
- It is recommended that a 5 Amp standard automotive fuse protection be added to the positive (+) input.
- The addressable Reed is NOT polarity protected. Wiring the light incorrectly could cause damage
INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
- Do not bend lighting more than necessary. It should only be bent to a 1” radius. Bending to a tight 90° angle could cause damage to the circuit
- Only bend the LED ribbon in one natural direction, do not try to bend in an unnatural direction such as twisting.
- Make sure surfaces are smooth, clean and free of dust and debris before installing this product. Failure to properly clean the surface may result in loss of adhesion.
- Rough surfaces may prevent proper adhesion. If adhesion failure occurs screw-in mounting channels may be used for installation.

Wire the light based on the wiring diagrams below.
Note: Addressable Reed tape light will require one driver (part
810-00719) for every 5.5A of power used. Multiple light lengths can be wired
to one driver
