Product Overview

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.

CORD PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
This appliance has important markings on the plug blade. The attachment plug or entire cord set is not suitable for replacement. lf damaged, the appliance shall be replaced.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord.

Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power- supply cord or extension cord is used:

  1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
  2. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

  1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.
  2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
  3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
  4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.
  5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

Assemblying

HOW TO USE

WARNING: ALWAYS unplug the blender before assembling, disassembling, cleaning or storing.

  1. Position the base on a dry, flat and level surface.
  2. Add food or liquid into the blender, but do not overload. This blender is meant to process or blend regular, small quantities of food.
  3. Press the blender lid firmly into place. Insert the clear inner portion of the two-piece lid into the center of the lid. Align the two tabs of the clear inner portion with the two slots on the lid. Turn clockwise to secure in place. CAUTION: NEVER operate the blender without the lid placed on the glass jar.
  4. Plug the power cord into a household power outlet. The digital screen will flash three times and then the power button will stay illuminated. The blender is in idle mode.
  5. Touch the power button to illuminate the digital screen- the blender is now in standby mode. The power button will flash until a speed is selected. Note: If no speed button is selected within 30 seconds, the screen will go dark again and the blender will return to idle mode with only the power light illuminated.
  6. Touch the desired speed button to start blending. Allow food to blend for desired amount of time, and then press the red STOP button to turn off blending process.
  7. When the LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH or LIQUIFY buttons are selected, the blender will blend for 60 seconds and then turn off if the STOP button is not pushed before then.
  8. When the SMOOTHIE button is selected, the blender will blend for 15 seconds on MEDIUM setting, then blend on LOW for 5 seconds, and will continue blending in the same pattern for a total of 60 seconds.
  9. In order to use the PULSE function, press and hold the PULSE button for the desired amount of time, then release the button to stop blending, repeating this process for as long as needed.

CAUTION: If jar rotates during blending, immediately press the STOP button, then secure the jar by tightening the cutting blade assembly on the jar.

PULSE: Pulse is the ideal setting for smaller quantities or short blending cycles. For example, use the pulse setting to crumb a variety of dry ingredients: cookies, crackers, breads, etc. Pulse is also ideal for chopping vegetables and nuts, or grating cheese or chocolate.

Dishwasher Cleaning
The recommended cleaning method for this product is by hand as described above.
Due to the heat and water pressure of the automatic dishwasher, some parts may be damaged or warp.
TO STORE
Be sure all parts are clean and dry. Store appliance in its box or in a clean, dry place. Never store it while it is hot or wet. Store with the lid slightly open to avoid trapping odors or stagnant water in the jar. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance; keep it loosely coiled.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring disassembly must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.

BLENDING HINTS AND TIPS

  • If ingredients stick to the sides of the glass jar during the blending process, the contents need to be pushed back into the blending zone of the blades. DO NOT DO THIS WHILE THE BLENDER IS RUNNING. Press the STOP button and unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Remove the lid and with a plastic or silicone spatula, scrape the contents from the sides of the jar. Replace the lid before continuing to blend.
  • Do not over load the blender jar. This blender is intended to process regular household quantities.
  • For better and more even blending performance, cut vegetables into wedges or strips. Cut other food into 1” cubes.
  • Do not place anything other than liquids or food inside the blender jar before adding solid ingredients.
  • This blender is not meant to knead dough or mash potatoes.
  • NEVER place hot or boiling ingredients into the blender jar. If blending warm ingredients, do not fill blender jar with more than 2 cups of ingredients.
  • Follow recipe directions, but as a rule of thumb add liquid ingredients into the blender jar before adding solid ingredients.
  • Heavy ingredients and mixtures will blend more evenly by using intermittent pulses of about 10 seconds.
  • Do not run blender for more than 1 minute without turning off the blender motor and allowing the ingredients to slightly settle. This will help prevent over-blending.
  • The blender motor will not operate without the glass jar positioned correctly on top of the blender base.
  • Do not remove the blender lid while operating. To add liquid ingredients while blending, remove the center piece of the two-piece lid and pour ingredients through the opening. Do not put a utensil or any other object through the opening in the lid.
  • NEVER store foods or liquid in the jar.
  • To reduce wear on the blade assembly and motor, add solid foods in ½ cup increments.
  • If a recipe requires different speeds for blending, blend a portion at a time.
  • When crushing ice, start with 4 to 6 ice cubes and add 1 to 2 ice cubes at a time. The type of ice cube used does matter. It is recommended to use only large, solid ice cubes from the freezer. The ice cubes also should not be wet.
