Safety Precautions

The Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna is designed to be stand-alone or built-in to your bathroom, pool area or spa.
It is recommended to install the Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna indoors for maximum protection and longevity.
If installed outside, whether it’s on a deck, veranda or in a purpose-built Cabana, it must always be completely covered and protected from the rain, moisture and other elements in order to protect the naturally untreated Canadian Hemlock finish.
Supervise children at all times. Children over the age of 6 years may use the sauna under the supervision of adults.
Do not use the Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna if you have an open wound, eye disease or severe sunburn.
Elderly, pregnant woman and infants should not use the sauna.
Exit the sauna immediately if you feel uncomfortable, dizzy or sleepy.
Persons with health conditions or suffering from a disease directly related to temperature should consult their doctor before using the Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna.
CAUTION: Hyperthermia can occur when the internal temperature of your body reaches a level several degrees above normal body temperature of 37ºC (98.6°F).
The symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal temperature of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting.
The effects of hyperthermia include failure to perceive heat and to recognize the need to exit the room, unawareness of impending hazard, fatal damage to pregnant women, physical inability to exit the room and unconsciousness.
Do not use the sauna if you are under the effects of alcohol.
WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs, or medication is capable of greatly increasing the risk of fatal hyperthermia.
Remove all jewellery before you enter the sauna.
The door of the sauna does not include a locking or latching system which could cause entrapment inside the sauna.
To avoid fire, do not dry clothes or leave any towels in the sauna.
While in the sauna, do not touch the light bulb. If the bulb needs to be changed, switch it off and wait until the sauna is shut off and the bulb is cool.
Do not place pets in the sauna.

Installation Requirements

Before connecting the sauna to a power source, please ensure all the wires, cords and connections are connected properly.
Plug the Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna into a proper wall power outlet. Do not share the same outlet with any other appliances.
Install the Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna on a completely level surface.
Ensure the control system is in a well ventilated dry area. Do not place it next to any heat source, in direct sunlight, where there is any type of vibration or in any damp or dusty environment. It should not be placed in an area with other thermal radiating objects.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrocution and burns, do not operate unless heater guard is correctly in place.
CAUTION: Do not place combustible materials on or against heaters at any time.
To reduce risk of electric shock and/or fire, do not expose the control system to direct water contact or rain. Do not open the cover to the control system as there are high tension fittings that can be dangerous. Only authorised and approved dealer technicians should make any needed or necessary repairs.
Any unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications can lead to serious injuries, can cause the sauna to operate outside its intended specifications parameters and will void the warranty
WARNING: Reduce the risk of electrocution by disconnecting the power supply before servicing.
Do not spray the exterior with water. If the area you are installing the sauna has a tendency for dampness, place rubber matting or some other suitable barrier underneath the sauna.
Do not store flammable objects or chemical substances near the sauna.
Drink a cup of water before the sauna session. After two hours of continuous use, shut the sauna down for one hour.
If the sauna becomes too warm, open the vent in the ceiling or open the front door.
After your sauna session, turn off, and unplug the power cord.

Installing your Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna

Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna 5 Person comes in 6 cartons. Make sure all parts are included before commencing assembly.

Assembling Front Frame.
Make a square on the floor with the four front frame pieces. Connect and join each corner using a hammer to ensure its slotted in fully. Next secure in 2 corners with screws and the other 2 corners with screws into the metal connection plate using a screw driver.
Positioning back board.
Place the back board in the desired location of your sauna.
Assembling left board.
Align corresponding battens of the back and left board, make sure the protruding batten joins to the flute, and secure with 6 latches.
Assembling right board.
Align the corresponding battens of the back and right board, make sure the protruding batten joins to the flute, and secure with 6 latches.
Assembling floor board.
Slide the floor board into place, in front of where the bench support will sit, between left and right board.
Assembling front board.
With one person holding the right side and another person holding the left side carefully lift the front board up and slide into place in side locks on the left and then right side.
Assembling bench supports and benches.
Assemble bench support first. Slide the bench support vertically into place in between the right and left board. Next slide bench horizontally into place on corresponding bitterns above. Next slide the second layer bench support vertically into place at the back of the bench and the second bench on top.
Assembling the top board.
One person to step inside the sauna while the other raises the top board high enough to fit between the surrounding boards. Person inside the sauna to carefully slide top board into place. Use a screwdriver to secure with screws.

Connect all plugs to the corresponding outlets on the top board.
Assembling Front Doors.
Unscrew and remove door runner block pieces in top and bottom of door frame.

Slide right side glass into door runner. Slide left side glass into door runner. Reattach door runner block pieces in top and bottom of frame and fix tightly with screws.
Attaching glass door.
Position glass door hinge on the outside of the right glass panel in the top position. Place hinge plate on the inside and secure with screws using the allen key. Repeat with second glass door hinge on the bottom of the right glass panel.

Next carefully position the center glass door in place and attach to the hinges on right glass panel by placing a hinge plate on the inside of the glass door in the bottom position and secure with screws using an allen key. Repeat in the top position.

Take the rubber door protection strips and secure into left then right glass door panels by pushing against the strip with your hand to ensure its firmly in place.

Lastly for door closure, take the metal door closure bracket and secure to the top of the left side glass and insert metal clip on the glass door.
Installing your Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna

Attaching the door handles.
Separate the wooden and metal handles by removing the screws that attach them with a screwdriver.

Position metal door handle on outside of glass door. Insert a washer and hold in place while you position the wooden door handle on the inside of the door in the top handle position. Secure with a screw using a screwdriver and repeat in the bottom handle position.
Attach the backrest.
Position the backrest on the top of the second layer bench and secure to the back panel with screws.
Assembling the lamp and lamp shade.
Detach the lamp cover from the base by removing the screws, then take the base into the sauna and feed the wires from the back panel corner through the hole in the lamp base and attach these wires to the bulb.

Then attach base to the back panel with screws using a screwdriver and reattach the lamp cover with screws. Lastly position the lamp shade on top and secure with screws.
Installing the Harvia Vega Stove Heater.
Feed the cable of the heater through the right board.

Then secure the wooden frame together with screws and position the wooden frame into the sauna. Disassemble one side batten of the wooden support frame to allow for insertion of the stove heater.

Next upend the sauna Harvia Vega heater into the wooden frame, and unscrew the top metal panel of the heater to connect all the wires and power supply.

Please reference detailed installation instructions which come with the Harvia Vega Heater or refer to the Harvia Vega Heater Manual on AbodeFit Health Traditional Sauna (vitality4life.com.au).
Note: Keep the power cord away from the heater and lock tight with screws. After assembling the wires, install the top metal panel of the heater back on and the wooden batten, and place the Harvia Vega Heater in the correct location.
Position sauna rocks.
Position sauna rocks by placing larger rocks on the bottom and smaller rocks on top. Leave sufficient gaps between the rocks and then fix the baffle into place to facilitate air circulation.
Attach the hygro thermometer.
Secure the hygro thermometer to the left or back board. NOTE: Do not attach the hygro thermometer under the Harvia stove heater

This completes the installation process.

Operating your Zen Traditional Finnish Sauna

Display Screen

Check voltage of external power, to see if it matches voltage range of sauna room
Connect power line of sauna to external power.
Turn the timer dial to the ”on” section to activate the sauna. The heater will start to heat immediately.
Note: Please turn off power if you don’t use it for a long time.
Set desired time and temperature.
Power on for a period of time, to warm up sauna before use.
Start sauna session
Note: When the thermometer reaches 42ºC, you can start your sauna session. Drink a cup of water before the sauna session.
Refer to Harvia Vega heater manual for detailed operation instructions.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Do not use liquid or aerosol cleansers inside the sauna.
Unplug the sauna from the power outlet on the wall before cleaning. Use plain water and a soft cloth for cleaning. Do no use benzene, alcohol or strong cleaning chemicals on the sauna. Dry with a clean dry towel.
If you are transporting the sauna, avoid exposure to rain, snow or strong collisions during transport.
Do not store the sauna in damp environments.
Do not leave the sauna on for more than 2 hours at a time.

Note: Use of chemicals will damage the wood and any natural protection layer inherent in the wood.

Troubleshooting

Sauna Heater is not heating up| The heater is faulty
The heater wiring is loose| Contact our Customer Service Centre, details on the last page.
Check that the connection cable is connected.
Turn the timer switch to the “on” section. Turn the thermostat to a higher setting.
Check that the overheat protector has not gone off.
The timer works but the heater does not heat.

Lamp Light bulb is not working| The light bulb has burnt out Light bulb wiring is loose Lamp holder is broken
The electrical control panel is faulty| Replace the light bulb. Tighten light bulb connectors. Replace the lamp holder. Contact our Customer Service Centre, details on the last page.
The sauna heats slowly| The water thrown on the sauna stones cools down the stones quickly.| Check that the fuses to the heater are in good condition. Check that all heating elements glow when the heater is on. Turn the thermostat to a higher setting. Check that the heater output is sufficient. Check the sauna stones . Too tightly piled stones, the settling of stones with time or wrong stone type can hinder the air flow through the heater, which results in reduced heating efficiency. Check that the sauna room ventilation has been arranged correctly.
** The sauna room heats quickly, but the temperature of the stones remain insufficient| Water thrown on the stones runs through| Turn the thermostat to a lower setting. Check that the heater output is not too high.
Check that the sauna ventilation has been arranged correctly.
The sauna heats unevenly| Check that the heater has been installed in the correct height. The heater heats the sauna best, when it is installed 100 mm from the floor. The maximum installation height is 200 mm.

Panel or other material near the heater blackens quickly| Check that the requirements for safety distances are fulfilled. Check the sauna stones. Too tightly piled stones, the settling of stones with time or wrong stone type can hinder the air flow through the heater, which may result in overheating of surrounding materials.
The heater emits smell| The hot heater may emphasize odours mixed in the air that are not, however, caused by the sauna or the heater.
Examples: paint, glue, oil, seasoning.
The heater makes noise**| The timer is a mechanical device and it makes a ticking sound when it is functioning normally. If the timer ticks even when the heater is switched off, check the timer’s wiring.
Occasional bangs are most likely caused by stones cracking due to heat.
The thermal expansion of heater parts can cause noises when the heater warms up.

WARRANTY

ABODEFIT HEALTH™ ZEN TRADITIONAL FINNISH SAUNA WARRANTY

Warranty Period: 5 Year Repair. Vitality 4 Life are the warranty providers for AbodeFit Health™ products. Vitality 4 Life warrant this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship while in normal domestic use for a period of five years on parts and labour from the original date of purchase.

DO NOT RETURN THE PRODUCT TO THE STORE.

LODGING A WARRANTY CLAIM

Should you experience any issues with your product, please follow these steps to lodge a warranty claim:

Contact your local Vitality 4 Life Service Centre with the following details: Your warranty details including name, email and phone number
- Product name and model number
- Product serial number, found on the rating label of the product
- Explanation of how the damage occurred
- Photos of the damage or issue is highly beneficial to expediting your claim
Vitality 4 Life will assess your claim and respond within 24-48 hours. If the Product exhibits a defect while in normal domestic use, within the warranty period; we will, at our option, either repair or replace the product or defective part free of charge.
In the event the product is required to be sent to the Service Centre, the customer is liable for all packing, freight and insurance costs for transit of the product to Vitality 4 Life. Subject to the applicable consumer laws in your jurisdiction.
If the product, or one of its parts, qualifies for replacement or service within the 30-Day period after date of purchase, Vitality 4 Life will arrange the shipping at no cost to you.
Any product sent to a Vitality 4 Life Service Centre must include a Return Authorization Form. Failure to include this form may result in the product being rejected from our warehouse or a delayed service time.
In the event that the warranty period for a product has expired, or if a Product does not qualify for warranty service, repair or replacement, consumers may still buy replacement parts or have products repaired by one of Vitality 4 Life’s Service Centres. Please contact Vitality 4 Life for further information. Vitality 4 Life will contact you with a quote prior to undertaking any service work outside of the warranty coverage.
Typical turn-around times to address warranty claims can be between 10-14 business days, plus shipping, depending on location and type of damage or warranty claim.
In no event shall our liability exceed the retail value of the product. We make no warranty with respect to parts, from asource other than Vitality 4 Life.
In the event that warranty parts or products are provided, the customer must cover the related shipping costs to receive goods.
All exchanged or substitute parts and products replaced under warranty service will become the property of Vitality 4 Life. Repaired or replaced products or parts thereof will be warranted by Vitality 4 Life for the balance of the original warranty period.
(Australia only) Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

Damage, accidental or otherwise, to the Product, not caused by direct defect in factory workmanship or materials.
Damage due to abuse, mishandling, alteration, misuse, commercial service, tampering, accident, failure to follow care, operating and handling provisions indicated in the instructions.
Damage caused by parts or service not authorized or performed by Vitality 4 Life.
‘Normal’ wear and tear that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use or aging.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Therefore, the above limitations may not apply to you in the case of damage in shipment. If your product was damaged in shipment: Immediately report this type of damage to the parcel carrier and have them file an inspection report to contact the distributor from whom you purchased the product for further instructions.
You have rights and benefits under the consumer laws in your jurisdiction. Without detracting from these rights or benefits, Vitality 4 Life excludes all liability in respect of this product for any other loss which is not reasonably foreseeable from a failure of this product, which may include liability for negligence, loss of expenditure associated with the product and loss of enjoyment.
