PSC-01 Power Sequencer Controller

Please read the manual carefully before using the machine.

Precautions

CAUTION

  • RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
  • DO NOT OPEN

This symbol, wherever it appears, alerts you to the presence of an insulated dangerous voltage inside the enclosure, which may be sufficient to constitute a risk of shock.
This symbol also alerts you to important operating and maintenance instructions in the accompanying literature; please read the manual.

Caution: This power sequencer controller ensures the safety of the user in both design and production phases, but it may cause the risk of electric shock or fire if used improperly.

  • To ensure reliable operation and the user’s safety, please read and follow the listed warnings before assembling, operating, and any other servicing.
  • To avoid any accidents, only qualified technicians are allowed to install, disassemble, or service the unit. Before pushing down the “Bypass” button in an emergency, please shut off the power switch of each individual equipment connected to the outlet of the unplug or the power cord from the main power supply. This will help to avoid the impact of surge current.
  • Only connect the unit to the main power type that is marked on the rear panel. The power must provide a good ground connection.
  • Turn off the power supply when the unit is not in use. The breaker is not included in the unit. Do not put the unit in a place close to excessive heat or direct sunlight; locate the unit away from any equipment that produces heat.
  • To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture, or use in damp or wet conditions.
  • Do not place a container of liquid on it, which may spill into any openings.
  • Do not open the case of the unit in order to prevent electrical shock. Any service work should be done by a qualified service personnel only.

INSTRUCTION

Thank you for purchasing our power sequencer controller. The unit provides controlled power sequencing to eight rear AC outlets. When the switch on the front panel is pushed, each output is connected from P1 to P8 one by one, with a fixed amount of time delay. When the switch is pushed off, each output is switched off from P8 to P1 step by step with a fixed amount of time delay.

The unit is widely used on professional amplifiers, televisions, public address systems, computers, etc., which need to be powered on/off in sequence. It will effectively protect the connected equipment from inrush current, while also protecting the supply power circuit from the impact of a large inrush current caused by several equipment being switched on at the same time.

FRONT PANEL

  1. Voltage Meter: Displaying the output voltage
  2. Power Switch: When switched on, the output sockets will be connected from P1 to P8,when switched off,the output sockets will be disconnected from P8 to P1.
  3. Power Output lndicator: when the indicator light is illuminated, the corresponding AC power outlet on the rear panel will be connected.
  4. Bypass Switch
  5. USB 5V DC Socket
  6. AC Socket

REAR PANEL

  1. Power cord: only qualified technical is allowed to install/connect the power cord. Brown wire—AC Power live(L);Blue wire—AC Power neutral(N); Yellow/Green wire—AC Power Earth(E)
  2. RS232 Protocol remote control:
    • Remote switch connection: Pin 2-PIN 3 RXD.
    • Master control switch connection: Pin3 RXD-Pin 5 GND
  3. Sequencing power output sockets: please connect to each equipment according to the power sequencing stages.
  4. Multiple units connection interface.

Using Instructions

Internal Structure

  1. Multiple units connection switch
    • The unit can be set to four conditions: “single unit”, “Link unit”, “middle unit”, and “down link unit”. It is configured by DIP switches SW1 and SW2 (the default DIP switch setting is for “single unit”). Refer to the figures below:
  2. Multiple units connection interface
    • The interface is located on the port side of the multiple unit connection control board. There are three interfaces marked as JIN, JOUT1, and JOUT2.
    • JIN is the input interface and is connected to the output interface of the “up link unit”.
    • JOUT1 and JOUT2 are output interfaces and output the signal to control the “down link unit”.

Mutiple Unit Connection Setting

When the connected equipment are less than 8, the “single unit” model is satisfactory for the needs. In this simply connect mode, the equipment according to the power sequencing stages to the rear panel outlets. When the connected equipment are more than 8, the number of equipment divide by 8 and carry the remainder to digit; this one is the number of needed units. Before setting the multiple unit plug connection, the power cord of each unit, open the top cover plate, and set the DIP switches SW1 and SW2 according to the figures C on.

The next step is to use the provided multiple connection interface cable to connect each unit according to the figures below:

  • 2 units connection
  • 3 units connection method 1
  • 3 units connection method 2
  • Mulitip units connection: refer to the methods of 3 units connection
