Product Information

Frozentubs Cooling Set Frozentubs Cooling Set is a product designed to provide cold therapy for therapeutic purposes. It includes the following components:

• Frozentubs Icebarrel Aqualight 1/2 – 1 HP
• Cooling unit
• Ozone generator (included only in 1 HP set)
• Airpump (included only in 1 HP set)
• Silicone tubes
• Tube attachment

Usage Instructions

Quick Start Guide Please note that the image provided is for illustrative purposes only. You can arrange the hoses according to your preference.

1. Place the cooling unit on a stable surface with sufficient ventilation space.
2. If you plan to install the cooling unit outdoors, make sure it is protected from rain and snow.
3. Connect the hoses. Use the supplied teflon/seal tape to ensure watertight connections on the Frozentub.
4. The outlet of the Frozentub should be connected to the horizontal hose nozzle of the pump, leading to the inlet of the cooling unit.
5. When connecting the ozone generator, ensure that the non-return valve prevents water from reaching the generator. Refer to the provided picture or blow into the valve to identify the correct side.
6. Fill the Frozentub with water using the supplied hose(s). We recommend filling the barrel to approximately 2/3 capacity to prevent flooding when entering.
7. Turn on the pump and check the flow of water through the machine and back again.
8. Turn on the cooling unit. Press and hold the set button until you can select the desired temperature. The cooling unit has a startup phase of 3 minutes before it begins cooling.
9. Once the desired temperature is reached, turn off the external cooling unit before starting your therapy session.

Safety and Usage Tips

• The cooling unit will cool down to the set temperature and then switch off. It will switch on again and cool to the set temperature if a larger temperature difference arises.
• Keep the water clean and prevent dirt from entering. This is important to maintain the performance and longevity of the pump and cooling unit.

Important when using the Cooling set

1. Please read the entire instruction manual carefully before installing the kit.
2. Install the set in the appropriate place (see quick start guide).
3. Maintenance (see manual per product).

Caution!

• Electricity is very dangerous and can kill. To avoid accidents, we ask that you handle this product responsibly.
• Never leave the equipment switched on while taking your ice bath. Always switch off all equipment. No matter how small the chance is, there is always a chance of a technical defect that has or may arise. Please don’t take any chances with your life.
• Keep children away.
• Make sure that the cooling unit is upright on a stable surface.
• Make sure that there is no water leakage at any connection. We recommend using the supplied teflon tape for this.
• Make sure that the cooling unit is connected to a socket or extension cord that is suitable for use, is properly earthed, has a built-in surge protector.
• Ensure that the cooling unit is kept dry at all times and protected from frost. It is possible to use the cool unit outside if you protect the unit well against nature. We are working on making it possible to leave the cool unit outside, if you want to put the cool unit outside, protect it.
• If the device does get wet, unplug it immediately and do not use it.
• By using it, you agree that we accept no responsibility whatsoever for misuse or failure to use this equipment safely as instructed.

Quick start guide

• The image above serves as an example. In the example, hoses are depicted fictitiously. You can arrange these according to your own choice. This is a quick start explanation. For maintenance or more information, please consult the supplied manuals.
• Place the cooling unit on a stable surface. Make sure there is enough ventilation space around the cooling unit. Do you want to place the cool unit outside? Make sure it is protected from rain and snow.
• Connect the hoses. For the hose connections on the Frozentub, we recommend using the supplied teflon/seal tape so that it is and remains watertight.
• The outlet of the FrozenTub is located at the bottom and must be connected to the horizontal hose nozzle of the pump through to the inlet of the cooling unit. Cut or saw the top inlet of the Frozentub free and connect it to the outlet of the cooling unit.
• When connecting the ozone generator, make sure that the non-return valve prevents the water from going to the ozone generator. Look at the picture or blow into the valve once to see which side is letting air through.
• You can now fill your Frozentub with water with or without the supplied hose(s). To prevent flooding when you enter the barrel, we recommend filling the barrel for approximately 2/3.
• Turn on the pump and check the flow of water through the machine and b ack again.
• Turn on the cooling unit. Hold down the set button until you can select the desired temperature. The cool unit has a start-up phase of 3 minutes before it starts cooling.
• Once the desired temperature is reached, turn off the external cooling unit before starting your session
• If the water does not reach the desired temperature, please lower the factory settings (Hold “set” button to enter the “F1-5” menu, The cool unit is set to a minimum temperature of 4°C as standard. If the machine does not get to this temperature you can lower the factory setting so it will make more use of its maximum capacity.

How do you start with cold therapy?

• Cold water therapy works best with the right combination of time and temperature.
• Every body is different and has a different cold tolerance and basic metabolism.
• We can therefore only give a generic answer. Recent research shows that in general 11 minutes spread over a week (no matter how) brings the most positive effects.
• Mind your safety. If you have little experience, it is important to get to know your body first. Cold therapy already has positive effects at 15°C. So build it up slowly.
• Andrew Huberman is one of our personal favorite scientists and point of reference for accurate information. Watch Andrew’s podcast on cold therapy training here.
• The wim hof method is the world’s most well-known information source about cold therapy with a holistic and healthy life perspective. Do a course, follow the training and “become the iceman/woman”!

Safety and usage tips

• The cool unit cools down to the set temperature and then switches off. When a larger temperature difference arises, it will switch itself on again and cool to the set temperature
• The cool unit is set to a minimum temperature of 4°C as standard. If the machine does not get to this temperature you can lower this setting so it will make more use of its maximum capacity.
• This can be done via the extra “F1-5 menu” (see Aqualight manual book).
• Keep the water clean and don’t let dirt get into the water. This is bad for the pump and cooling unit.
• For hygiene, hydrogen peroxide (biological) and or ozone is suitable to keep the water clean. There are several options available on the internet.
• Never clean the cool unit with bleach or other strong cleaning agents Connect a smart plug to the ozone and/or pump.
