    The FeNObreath® should be charged for a minimum of 24 hours before first use.

Taking a Breath Test

  1. Press and hold the on/off button once to switch the monitor on and wait up to 60 seconds for the monitor to stabilize.

  2. Attach a new mouthpiece to the unit and select either the adult or child breath test.
    NOTE: To cancel the breath test, press the icon.

  3. As prompted onscreen by , inhale until your lungs are full and you are prompted to exhale.
    NOTE: Ensure the patient inhales through the mouth before exhaling through the mouthpiece.

  4. When the exhale icons appear, , keep the monitor upright and blow gently into the mouthpiece. Make sure you are not covering the vent holes on the back of the device.
    NOTE: The exhalation time is approximately 12 seconds for an adult and 10 for a child.

  5. The onscreen flow meter will guide you on the exhalation rate: continue blowing until the green check mark appears onscreen to signify a successful test.
    NOTE: If you blow outside of the exhalation guidelines, the test will beep, before signifying a fail, and a red cross will appear. Touch to retry the test or to view the result.

  6. Following the green check mark, a result will appear on the screen, in ppb.

  7. You may save this result by pressing . Alternatively, you can return to the home screen by pressing .

  8. If you choose to save your results you will be shown a list of patient profiles. Select a previously set profile to add your result to, or select an empty profile to set a new one. Set the profile by typing in a name or reference, and press .

  9. Remove and dispose of the mouthpiece in accordance with local waste and disposal guidance.

  10. If no further tests are required, press and hold the on/off button once to turn the FeNObreath ® off and store on FeNObreath®Dock to charge unit.

NOTE: A PIN is required to save the reading to a patient profile, the default pin is 0000. It is highly recommended that you change the PIN to a 4 digit number that you will remember. If you have not entered your PIN in the last 30 minutes, you will be asked to enter it before you can access the patient profiles. If your PIN is entered incorrectly, you will be notified and the screen will refresh for you to re-enter your PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, please contact Bedfont® Scientific Ltd. or your local distributor to reset it.
