Reuss Goo Goo Fuzz
The Reuss Goo Goo Fuzz is a clone of a late 1960s Univox/Shin-Ei FY6 Superfuzz pedal, built exactly to the original late 1960s schematic. It’s an aggressive but musical ‘octave up’ fuzz effect with two preset tone settings
Controls
- ‘BALANCE’ sets the output volume of the unit
- ‘EXPANDER’ sets the level of distortion
- ‘TONE’ selects between an extreme ‘scooped mids’ setting and a midrangy eq response
- Internal trim pot. Removing the bottom plate of the pedal gives access to a ‘trim pot’ at the circuit board. Use a small screw driver to adjust this to your taste. The pot has an effect on the octave-up effect as well as the unit’s ring-modulator- like noises and the gate effect. It’s all give and take and extreme adjustments may cause unwanted noises. Use your ears. The pedal usually sounds best with the trimmer close to the middle position.
Connectors
- Right side jack input of the unit. Connect your guitar here
- Left side jack is the output. Connect your amp here
- At the right side of the pedal, there’s a 9V DC inout for an external power supply. This is a standard guitar pedal ‘negative centre’-type jack. Reversing the polarity can damage the pedal.
Please note: The unit is drawing power from the battery, when there is a jack in the input connector. Alway remove the input jack when the pedal is not in use, if you are running it with a battery.
Specifications
- Vintage correct Shin-Ei FY6 circuit featuring vintage new old stock OA90 germanium diodes and vintage new old stock Matsushita/Panasonic 2SC539 and 2SC828 transistors. Please note that these vintage parts in an extreme hi-gain circuit will generate an audible noise floor when the effect is on

- Handmade in the European Union
- Aluminium enclosure with fine metallic raspberry red powder coat finish and silk screen printing
- Input impedance 22K ohm
