- pull back the connector from the rear wiring harness under the frame tube
- unscrew the 2 rear screws with 8mm wrench on the rear end
- unscrew the 2 screws with 8 mm wrench size from below at the fender (attention: sleeves behind them fall out quickly, do not lose them)
- unscrew the 2 nuts with 10 mm wrench size from below at the fender (hold the screws at the top of the frame with 8 mm wrench, one of these screws is used in point 14)
- remove the fender unit
- disconnect black original license plate holder from fender (screw with 8 wrench + nut with 10 wrench).
- disconnect white plug from license plate light
- unscrew the back plate from the original license plate holder (5 allen screws, 3 allen width)
- now you can reach the Torx TX20 screw connection of the license plate light from the inside. Unscrew the screws
- screw the license plate light to the new license plate holder with the enclosed M4x8 allen screws
- put the license plate light back in and push the cable and plug through the rubber grommet in the fender (there is enough space for the cable between the fender and the rear light).
- screw the new license plate holder to the fender with a new aluminum sleeve (the supplied long 37mm sleeve), a new M6x55 allen screw, 2 supplied washers and nut (insert the sleeve – put on the washer – put on the license plate holder – put on another washer – screw on the nut). Align straight and tighten
- guide the mudguard unit to the motorcycle and hold it in the screwed position
- from above, screw in the 2 screws with 8 mm wrench size, but do not tighten yet
- screw in the 2 screws with 8 mm wrench size from below (attention, sleeves must be inserted first), but do not tighten yet.
- position the 2 supplied short aluminum sleeves at the 2 remaining fixing points (sleeves come between license plate holder and fender).
- insert the 2 supplied allen screws M6x55 from the top and screw them from the bottom with the supplied washers and nuts.
- align license plate holder
- tighten all screws
- fix the cable of the license plate light to the license plate holder with the supplied cable tie.
- re-route cable to fit and plug in connector from rear wiring harness
- for EU4 models Reposition ECU appropriately (attention, cable of the seat must be in the guide under the ECU) Clip and screw ECU retaining plate back in place.
- For EU5 models: Re-position the ECU cable and the seat cable and fix it with cable ties. Re-clip and re-screw the ECU retaining plate. 26.
- Please screw the license plate directly to the license plate holder without an additional frame. An additional holding frame or similar means more weight, whereby the license plate holder swings more and in case of doubt can break and/or come into the rear wheel.
- if the license plate is fixed with a third screw at the bottom of the holder, please use a screw as short as possible.
- optionally you can screw a small reflector to the bottom of the license plate. The original reflector is quite large and heavy, so we do not recommend it.
