Before operating the appliance, please read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided in the Owner’s Manual. These instructions are crucial in ensuring your safety and preventing fire, electric shock, or injury.
Using Your Oven
Follow these steps to use your oven:
- Select the desired oven function.
- Set the temperature for cooking.
- Press the Start button to initiate the cooking process.
- Once the set temperature is reached, place your food inside the oven and close the door.
- (Optional) Enter the desired cooking time.
- You can cancel the function during or after the cooking time by pressing the Cancel button.
Note: For more detailed instructions on specific functions, refer to the online Control Guide.
Start/Add 1 Minute Function
The Start/Add 1 Minute keypad on the oven controls two separate functions for the built-in microwave: Start and Add 1 minute.
Start Function
- The Start/Add 1 Minute keypad initiates any upper or single oven cooking function once enough data has been entered and the door is closed.
- If the Start keypad is not pressed within 5 minutes after touching another keypad, the oven display will return to inactive mode and cancel the programmed function.
- If cooking is interrupted by opening the door, pressing Start/Add 1 Minute after closing the door will resume the preset cycle.
Add 1 Minute Function
- When the microwave oven is off, touching Start/Add 1 Minute will start 1 minute of cook time at 100% power. This feature requires the display to be in the time of day visualization and the lower oven to be off (combination models only).
- While the microwave oven is operating, touching Start/Add 1 Minute will add 1 minute of cook time to the current cycle. Multiple minutes can be added by repeatedly touching Start/Add 1 Minute.
Using Aluminum Foil and Metal
When using aluminum foil and metal in the microwave oven, it is important to follow these guidelines to prevent damage:
- Always use oven mitts or pot holders when removing dishes from the microwave oven.
- Do not allow aluminum foil or metal to touch the inside cavity walls, ceiling, or floor to avoid damage to the microwave oven.
- Always use the turntable when using aluminum foil for shielding or approved meat thermometers.
- Avoid contact with another metal object during microwave cooking to prevent damage to the oven.
Do not use metal cookware and bakeware, gold, silver, pewter, non-approved meat thermometers, skewers, twist ties, foil liners such as sandwich wrappers, staples, or objects with gold or silver trim or a metallic glaze in the microwave oven.
Microwave Oven Cancel Function
- The Cancel keypad can be used to stop any microwave oven or lower oven function except for the Clock, Timer, and Control Lock.
- When the door is opened, the element(s) and fan will turn off, but the oven light will remain on. To resume the preset cycle, close the door and touch the Start button.

START/ADD 1 MINUTE
The Start/Add 1 Minute keypad controls 2 separate functions for the built-in
microwave: Start and Add 1 minute.
Start
- The Start/Add 1 Min keypad begins any upper or single oven cooking function once enough data has been entered and the door is closed.
- After enough data has been entered and the door is closed, “Start?” will appear on the oven display as a reminder. If the Start keypad is not touched within 5 minutes after touching another keypad, the oven display will return to the inactive mode and the programmed function will be canceled.
- If cooking is interrupted by opening the door, touching Start/Add 1 Minute after the door is closed again will resume the preset cycle.
Add 1 Minute
Touching Start/Add 1 Minute when the microwave oven is off will start 1 minute
of cook time at 100%power. To use this feature the display must be in the time
of day visualization, and the lower oven must be off (combination models
only). Touching Start/Add 1 Minute while the microwave oven is operating will
add cook time to the current cycle by 1 minute. Multiple minutes can be added
by repeatedly touching Start/Add 1 Minute.

OK for Use
Racks and bakeware supplied with the microwave oven (on some models), aluminum
foil for shielding, and approved meat thermometers may be used with the
following guidelines:
- To avoid damage to the microwave oven, do not allow aluminum foil or metal to touch the inside cavity walls, ceiling or floor.
- Always use the turntable.
- To avoid damage to the microwave oven, do not allow contact with another metal object during microwave cooking.
