Pediatric Thermocouple 814805-100 Sleepmate
Intended use
Cadwell Sleepmate™ Reusable Airflow Sensor is intended to detect patient nasal and/or oral breathing during sleep research and clinical studies of sleep.
Instruction for use
The sensor should be installed so that the probe is exposed to the maximum
available airflow. The probes should not touch the skin as contact may
attenuate the signal amplitude. To attach to the infant simply tape to the
bridge of the nose, such that the sensor hangs in front of the mouth. Run the
wire up and over the infant and secure with tape to avoid any entanglement.
Bend and shape sensor prong to fit comfortably on bridge of nose. Use Neonatal
approved tape to secure in place.
Important: Be sure tip of sensor is positioned in front of mouth Connect the
sensor to the appropriate channel input of your recorder.
Ensure the sensor is securely attached to the patient as described and you
have clear, reliable signals prior to lights out.
Cleaning
This sensor was designed to be reusable and can be cleaned by rubbing with any
cleansing agent that is not corrosive toward plastic. The entire assembly must
be completely dry before using again to insure patient safety. For
sterilization you should
implement a standard procedure for gas sterilization. Do not autoclave this
product.

Microvolts. Sensitivity is dependent on variables such as probe placement,
patient airflow, ambient room temperature, CPAP pressure, etc.
