Wiring Instructions

** Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION **section at the beginning of this document including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

WARRING TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY AND DEATH FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK: DEVICE TO BE INSTALLED BY QUALIFIED PERSON. CONDUCTORS MUST BE DE-ENERGIZED BEFORE WIRING.

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY: Select proper wire size and type for load and application.

  1. Loosen assembly screws and separate device. Loosen cord clamp screws to allow cord to fit between the two clamp halves.

  2. Wiring Preparation
    a. Insert cord through cord clamp and housing.
    NOTE: Remove the minimum cord clamp if the cord diameter is 0.391″-0.655″.
    b. Strip cord jacket between 7/8″ and 1″ from cord’s end. Remove insulation exposing between 3/8″ and 1/2″ bare copper wire. See Figure A
    c. Twist wire strands tightly together. Trim off cord fillers.

  3. Insert bare copper wire into wire clamp and tighten each terminal screw 10-12 in-lb. torque.
    a. HOT conductor to BRASS terminal
    b. NEUTRAL conductor to SILVER terminal
    c. GROUND conductor to GREEN hex screw

  4. Ensure insulation clears clamp.

  5. Assemble wired device body with housing. Align keyed housing with key on device’s body. Tighten assembly screws.

  6. Alternately tighten cord clamp screws 10-12 in-lb. torque. Ensure cord clamp rests over cord jacket, not over conductors.

IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
