  • Read the assembly instructions and keep them within reach for future reference.
  • Ensure that the electrical connection is performed by a qualified electrician.

Tools Required

  • Hammer with a wooden head or a mallet
  • Cordless screwdriver with bits for cross-head screws and Torx
  • Tape measure
  • Drill bits with a diameter of 3 mm, 10 mm, 20 – 30 mm

Maintenance and Cleaning

To maintain and clean the sauna:

  • Avoid exposing the sauna to excessive heat, as it can cause the surface to soften and bleed.
  • If pitch occurs on the surface, remove it with a rag soaked in acetone. For hardened pitch droplets, carefully scrape them off with a knife.

Disposal
Dispose of packaging materials according to the applicable waste disposal regulations.

Product Usage Instructions

Assembling the Cabin

  1. Attach the two side base frame pieces to the rear base frame piece, which has the cutout. Screw the side base frame pieces to the rear frame piece as shown.
  2. Begin the rear and side wall assembly using the pre-drilled rear and side wall planks. Screw the side wall planks into the rear wall planks.
  3. Tap each plank into the one beneath it using a mallet, ensuring that the top edges are level. Then, screw the side planks to the rear plank.
  4. Continue working your way up the rear and side walls, screwing the side planks to the rear plank on each row.
  5. In row six, find the plank with the vent cut-out and position it as shown. Screw the vent cover over the cut-out. In row seven, use the side and rear planks with the cut-out for the final row. Make sure the cutout faces the interior of the sauna.
  6. Position the vertical posts with notches for the glass on the front of the left and right side walls, with the notch facing the inside of the sauna.
  7. Screw the side wall planks to the vertical posts using the pre-drilled holes in each plank.
  8. Place the aluminum glass supports on the floor and against the groove in the vertical posts. Insert each glass window panel into the groove on the vertical post and into the aluminum support. Note that the window with pre-drilled holes is where the door will attach. Choose the appropriate side for the door swing.
  9. Place the glass header above the windows and between the two side walls. Fit it into place so that the edges of the windows fit into the groove, and the ends fit tightly against the two side walls. From the top of the sauna, angle-screw the header into the vertical posts.

Preparing for installation

Read these assembly instructions carefully and keep them within reach when using the sauna so that you can look up product information at any time.

These assembly instructions can also be found in the downloads section of our website: www.almostheaven.com.

Important note:

  • The room that the sauna is installed in must be dry and ensure an appropriate amount of air circulation.
  • The floor must be level and even, preferably a stone, concrete, tiled or vinyl floor.
  • A minimum room height of 230 cm is required for the cabin installation work.
  • A distance of at least 5 cm from the wall must be maintained.
  • You need an assistant for the installation.
  • Wood is a natural product that can swell, shrink or warp, despite good stor-age. For this reason, some force may be necessary during the installation.
  • All screw fittings must be pre-drilled.

Attention!
The electrical connection may only be performed by a qualified electrician.

  • Pre-drill
  • Cut to real measurement with a backsaw

Check the right angle:

Handle glass with care: Special care must be taken with the edges of the glass – hardened glass can shatter into small pieces in the event of impact. Insert protective cushioning (e.g: cardboard box) under the edge of the glass.

Maintenance and cleaning

The completed sauna should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Only use warm water – no cleaning products.

  • Pitch pockets are to be expected, since they can always appear in spruce wood and the depth at which they lie cannot be detected during the sorting-out process.
  • If these are just under the surface, heat can cause them to soften and “bleed”.
  • The leaking pitch can be removed with a rag soaked in acetone. If only droplets of pitch occur, allow these to harden and then carefully scrape them off with a knife.

Disposal
Dispose of packaging materials in accordance with the applicable waste disposal regulations.

Option:

Assembling the cabin

  1. Attach the two side base frame pieces to the rear base frame piece, which has the cutout. Screw the side base frame pieces to the rear frame piece as shown.
  2. Begin the rear and side wall assembly using the rear and side wall planks. Note that the side wall planks are pre-drilled and will be screwed into the rear wall planks.
  3. Using a mallet, tap each plank into the one beneath it so that the top edges are level, then screw side planks to the rear plank.
  4. Continue to work your way up the rear and side walls, screwing the side planks to the rear plank on each row.
  5. On row six find the plank with the vent cut-out and position it as shown and screw the vent cover over the cut-out. On row seven you will use the side and rear planks that have the cut-out for the final row. Be sure the cutout is facing toward the interior of the sauna.
  6. Position the vertical posts that are notched for the glass on the front of the left and right side walls with the notch facing toward the inside of the sauna.
  7. Screw the side wall planks to the vertical posts using the pre-drilled holes in each plank.
  8. Place the aluminum glass supports on the floor and against the groove in the vertical posts. Place each glass window panel in the groove on the vertical post and into the aluminum support. NOTE: The window with the pre-drilled holes is where the door will attach. Place this window on the right or left depending on which way you want the door of the sauna to swing. The door will swing out.
  9. Place the glass header above the windows and between the two side walls. Fit into place so that the edges of the windows fit into the groove, and the ends fit tightly against the two side walls. From the top of the sauna, angle-screw the header into the vertical posts.
  10. Attach the upper bench supports to the rear wall, using a level to be sure the bench will sit flat.
  11. Place the lower bench upside-down and attach the legs to the lower benches and secure to the bench as shown. Fit the pins from the 45°support into the pre-drilled holes on the bench leg and screw the other side into the underside of the bench.
  12. Place one of the completed lower benches in the sauna and toward the back wall. NOTE: The heater will be installed between this bench and the rear wall. The bench is moveable to allow for access to the heater.
  13. Set the front wall upper bench support panels perpendicular to each side wall and near the window. Before securing the front bench support panels, set the upper bench on top of the rear wall bench supports and the front wall support panel. After ensuring the bench is level and tight against all supports, screw the front bench support panels to the side walls. From below, screw the front and rear bench supports into the bench, and also screw the bench into the side walls.
  14. Find the roof plank with the groove that is cut out for a light. Place this roof plank against the rear wall of the sauna, the plank resting on the notched top wall boards. Be sure the light cutout is nearest the rear wall. Insert the light bar into the groove and run the cord out the back wall through the notch that is cut out. NOTE: There are different light bars for European and American designs; be sure you have the correct light bar and power supply before installing.
  15. Continue placing the roof planks on the top of the sauna using a mallet, tap each plank into the other as you did with the wall planks. The last roof plank is flat on one edge and will fit above the front wall header. Once all of the roof planks are positioned, screw them to the wall sections.
  16. Attach the vertical outside trim pieces on the 4 corners of the sauna. Screw them into place from the inside of the sauna to conceal the screws.
  17. Attach the hinges to the door and then the door to the window. NOTE: There will be a gap between the door and windows as well as on the floor. These are intentional to allow air to flow through the sauna.
  18. Depending on whether your door will swing left or right, partially remove the rubber seal at the top of the door to find the pre-drilled hole for the magnetic door catch. Trim back the seal and insert the magnetic catch, tapping in into place with a mallet. Find the metal sleeve and slip it over the door where it will meet the magnet.
  19. Follow the instructions for the heater for heater installation to the rear of the sauna.
