Product Information

The Braemar Manual Digital Thermostat is a device used to control the temperature of a heating system. It is designed for use with a heater and features a digital display for easy temperature adjustment. The thermostat is powered by 2x AAA batteries and is compatible with a 24VAC maximum voltage.

Product Usage Instructions:

  1. Select Thermostat Location: Choose a central location in the main living area, approximately 1.5m above the floor. Avoid direct sunlight, external walls, and heat sources. Also, avoid air streams, draughty areas, hallways, and proximity to the return air grille. Fill the cable entry hole in the wall.
  2. Prepare Wall and Wiring: Drill a hole in the wall at the selected thermostat location. Run a twin-core cable between the heater and thermostat location. Feed the thermostat cable through the pre-drilled hole in the wall.
  3. Fit Thermostat to Wall and Connect Wiring: Remove the thermostat from the wall bracket. Place the wall bracket on the wall, allowing cables to pass through the middle. Secure the bracket with screws. Connect the twin-core cables into the terminal block on the wall bracket.
  4. Fit Batteries and Re-assemble: Remove the battery compartment cover on the rear of the thermostat and insert 2x AAA batteries (supplied). Mount the thermostat onto the wall bracket.
  5. Connect Thermostat Cable to Heater: Feed the thermostat cable through the grommet in the room fan end of the heater. Connect the thermostat cable to the manual thermostat screw terminals on the heater circuit board, marked “MANUAL T’stat.”
  6. Commissioning: Follow the heater installation instructions to commission and test the heater.
  7. Calibration: For warranty service or further assistance, contact Seeley International at Warranty Service Australia: 1300 650 644 or New Zealand: 0800 589 151. SELECT THERMOSTAT LOCATION

  • Thermostat should be located central to the main living area approximately 1.5m above the floor. The main living area should be confirmed with the occupants.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Avoid mounting on an external wall.
  • Avoid mounting near heat sources such as stoves, televisions, etc.
  • Do not locate in air stream from an outlet register.
  • Do not locate in draughty areas.
  • Do not locate in hallways.
  • Do not locate adjacent to the return air grille.
  • Always fill cable entry hole in wall.

PREPARE WALL AND WIRING

  • Drill a suitably-sized hole in wall at centre of the selected thermostat location – this is to feed the thermostat cable through the wall for connection to the thermostat.
  • Run twin-core cable between heater and thermostat location, and feed thermostat cable through the pre-drilled hole in the wall.

  • Remove the thermostat from wall bracket.
  • Place wall bracket on wall allowing cables to feed through the middle of the bracket. Secure bracket to the wall with screws.
  • Secure twin-core cables into the terminal block located on wall bracket.

FIT BATTERIES AND RE-ASSEMBLE

  • Remove battery compartment cover on rear of the thermostat and fit 2x AAA batteries supplied.
  • Mount thermostat to wall bracket.

CONNECT THERMOSTAT CABLE TO HEATER

  • Feed thermostat cable through grommet in room fan end of heater.

COMMISSIONING

Commission and test the heater as described in the heater installation instructions.

CALIBRATION

  • The thermostat ambient temperature value can be calibrated by +/- 5°C.
  • Press the POWER button for 5 seconds to enter calibration mode.
  • Using the PLUS or MINUS buttons set the desired offset value.
  • Press the POWER button to accept the new offset value
