WILD GOOSE FILLING Gosling Coalescing Filter
Gosling Coalescing Filter Maintenance Procedure
The purpose of this procedure is to instruct the operator how and when to drain the coalescing filter fitted on the Gosling Canning Machine. The coalescing filter installed on the Gosling is considered a last line of defense against moisture and oil from the compressed air supply. The supplied air should be dried prior to the Gosling by either a refrigerated air dryer or adequate coalescing filters or oil/water separators.
FREQUENCY
At the start and end of every run, and for 2-3 hours of run tim e.
PROCEDURE
- Connect compressed air to the Gosling.
- Ensure the filler is stopped.
- Locate the compressed air prep assembly behind the f ill head next to the orange I FM 1/o Link device (Figure 1).
- Unscrew the blue dial at the bottom of the coalescing filter until air begins to discharge through the connected clear tube (approximately¼ turn). Reference Figure 1.
- Tighten the blue dial and resume or start canning operations.
