Safety instructions

WARNING! Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.

  • Installation and removal of the roof air conditioner may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks involved when handling refrigerant and air conditioning systems as well as the relevant regulations.
  • Do not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.
  • Do not use the device near flammable fluids or in closed rooms.
  • Ensure that no combustible objects are stored or installed near the air outlet. A distance of at least 50 cm must be kept.
  • Do not open or damage the refrigerant circuit under any circumstances.
  • Always disconnect the power supply when working on the device.
  • Do not make any alterations or conversions to the device.
  • This device may only be repaired by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks involved and the relevant regulations. Improper repairs can lead to considerable hazards.For repair service, contact the service center in your country (see dometic.com/dealer)
  • This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Electrical devices are not toys

Always keep and use the device out of the reach of very young children.

  • Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

**CAUTION!** Failure to obey these cautions could result in minor or moderate injury.

  • Do not reach into air outlets or insert any foreign objects in the roof air conditioner.
  • Do not undo the upper cover of the roof air conditioner in the event of a fire. Use approved extinguishing agents instead. Do not use water to extinguish fires.
  • If this device’s power cable is damaged, the power cable must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards

NOTICE! Damage hazard

  • Never drive through automatic car washes when the roof air conditioner is mounted.
  • Ask your vehicle manufacturer if a technical inspection is required after fitting an air conditioner and whether the height entered in your vehicle documents needs to be altered.
  • If faults occur in the refrigerant circuit, the roof air conditioner must be checked and repaired by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard. The refrigerant must never be released into the air.
  • Before start-up, check that the voltage specification on the data plate is the same as that of the power supply.

Intended use

The roof air conditioner is intended to be installed on the roof of a caravan or recreational vehicle to provide reverse cycle heating and cooling.

The roof air conditioner is not suitable for

  • Trains, houses and apartments
  • Installation in construction machines, agricultural machines or similar equipment

This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions. This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:

  • Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
  • Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
  • Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
  • Use for purposes other than those described in this manual

Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.

Air conditioning modes
The roof air conditioner has the following air conditioning modes:

Air conditioning mode Displayed symbol Description
Automatic AUTO (on display)
A (on remote control) The roof air conditioner regulates the interior

temperature to the set temperature by heating or cooling and controlling the required fan speed.
Cooling| | The roof air conditioner cools the interior temperature to the set temperature with specified fan settings.
Heating| | The roof air conditioner heats the interior temperature to the set temperature with specified fan settings.The fan starts after 2 minutes on low level and switches to the set fan level after about 5 minutes
Ventilation| | The fan operates to circulate air without heating or cooling.
Dehumidification| | Dehumidification removes moisture from the air without heating or cooling the inside. The fan speed is low.

Fan speed settings
In all air conditioning modes, except for the “Automatic” mode, the fan speed can be selected manually.

Display message Explanation
Low ( 1 ), medium ( 2 ) or high ( 3 ) fan speed
Auto fan (changes the fan speed based on the temperature setting and actual

room temperature) only available in the “Cooling” ( ) mode, “Heating” ( ) mode and “Ventilation” ( ) mode
| Turbo fan speed only available in the “Cooling” ( ) mode and “Heating” ( ) mode

Before first use

  • Insert the batteries into the remote control.
  • The display shows all symbols for 5 seconds.

Operation

The roof air conditioner can be operated via the remote control ( fig.1 , page 3) or the control panel ( fig.2 , page 4) at the air outlet unit.

Warranty

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact your retailer or the manufacturer’s
branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer).
For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the product:

  • A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
  • A reason for the claim or description of the fault

Note: that self-repair or non-professional repair can have safety consequences and might void the warranty.

Disposal

Recycling packaging material

Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.


Recycling products with batteries, rechargeable batteries and light sources

  • Remove any batteries, rechargeable batteries, and light sources before recycling the product.
  • Return defective or used batteries to your retailer or dispose of them at collection points.
  • Do not dispose of any batteries, rechargeable batteries, and light sources with general household waste.
  • If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
  • The product can be disposed free of charge.
