Product Information
The MP213 Dual-Mic Preamp is a versatile audio device designed to enhance the quality and performance of microphones. With its dual-mic capability, it allows for the simultaneous connection and amplification of two microphones. The preamp features multiple input and output options, including XLR and 1/8 (3.5mm) TRS-balanced mic inputs, as well as XLR balanced and 1/8 stereo outputs. It is compatible with both balanced and unbalanced audio systems, offering a wide range of connectivity possibilities. The impedance of the inputs is 10K Ohms, making it suitable for various microphone types. The XLR balanced output operates at a level of +4 dBV, while the 1/8 unbalanced output operates at a level of +10 dBV. This ensures optimal signal strength and compatibility with different audio equipment. The MP213 Dual-Mic Preamp provides substantial gain control, with a maximum gain of 60 dB for XLR inputs and 54 dB for 1/4 inputs. This allows for precise adjustment of the microphone signal to achieve the desired audio levels.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect your microphones to the preamp using either XLR or 1/8 (3.5mm) TRS balanced mic inputs. Ensure that the connections are secure.
  2. If using an unbalanced audio system, connect the XLR balanced output to your audio device using an XLR cable.
  3. If using a stereo system, connect the 1/8 stereo output to your audio device using an appropriate cable.
  4. Adjust the gain control knobs to set the desired amplification level for each microphone. Start with a lower gain setting and gradually increase it until the desired audio level is achieved.
  5. Monitor the audio output from the preamp through your audio device or headphones to ensure the signal quality and levels are satisfactory.
  6. Make any additional adjustments to gain control as needed to fine-tune the audio levels.
  7. When finished, disconnect the microphones and turn off the preamp.

Note: It is recommended to refer to the user manual of your specific audio equipment for any additional instructions or compatibility considerations.

The MP213 is designed to provide simple, in-expensive microphone pre- amplification for a variety of applications. The unit has both XLR and 1/8” inputs. XLR and 1/8” outputs, with a single Gain control with a Clip LED indicator for each channel. Phantom power is included for use with a condenser microphone. The 1/8” stereo output is specially designed for use as a camera microphone mixer or a moni-toring output. The MP213 uses a servo-balanced instrumentation amplifier for studio-grade performance in a small package. This equates to a 40 db better common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) than transistor inputs used by most companies on mic inputs. It also means much lower distortion.
