HRV CD290-4ASR Ventilation Integrated Smoke Detector User Manual
The smoke detector has been installed in your roof cavity and plugged into the HRV ventilation system.
If smoke is sensed in the roof cavity by the smoke detector:
- The HRV system will turn off the fan(s) to prevent smoke from venting into your home.
- An alert is also sent to your keypad controller (with a message on screen and beeping sound).
WARNING: This smoke detector is not a replacement for required stand- alone smoke detectors in your home.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
As the smoke detector is installed in your roof cavity, it may sense smoke
coming from outside the home, such as a neighbour’s wood fire or burner. This
will still cause the system to turn-off the fan(s) and show the alert on the
keypad controller.
IF SMOKE IS SENSED BY THE SENTEK SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE ROOF CAVITY, WHAT HAPPENS?
‘SMOKE ALARM’ and ‘FIRE’ is displayed with a ‘beeping’ sound, within 10
seconds of the smoke alarm being activated (shown here on left). The HRV
system will automatically turn off the fan(s).
NOTE:
You must check in your roof cavity for smoke or fire, before calling emergency
services. It may be sensing smoke from outside the home that has been drawn
into the roof cavity e.g. a neighbour’s woodfire or a bonfire.
Press ‘Silence’ to stop the alarm ‘beeping’ sound. The display will continue to show the smoke alarm until the smoke detector cannot sense anymore smoke.
Once no smoke is detected, the HRV system will automatically stop the alarm
and return the HRV system to the main screen and normal fan operation (shown
here on left).
