INFLATIONIDEFLATION

ORAO kites have one or two inflation deflation valves, depending on the model. If the model has one, the valve to help with deflation is located on the strut. If the strut doesn’t have a connection with the leading edge, we recommend you inflate the strut before the leading edge.
Unroll the kite in an area that is clear of any sharp, cutting or highly abrasive objects.

  1. Attach the pump cord to the kite and hold the Me in position by standing on the foot of the pump.

  2. The upper cap of the valve must be unscrewed and the lower cap screwed into the tube.

  3. If your model has a deflation valve (located on the strut), it must be closed.

  4. Connect the pump to the inflation valve and inflate the kite until you get a firm tube with the wing tip not easily folded inward. If your model has two inflation valves, repeat processes 2, 3 and 4 on the other tube. Do not over-inflate.
WARNING: For optimal inflation, refer to the inflation pressure for the kite size in the table below. Be careful, as over-inflating the kite can damage your product.

  5. Screw the top cap onto the valve without over-tightening it.

  6. If your model has a clamp on the connection between the leading edge and the strut, isolate the air in the strut by closing this clamp.

  7. Hold the kite by the middle of the leading edge and pull the pump cord out. If you have to land the kite, secure it to prevent it from accidentally taking off.

  8. To deflate the kite, unscrew the lower cap of the inflation valve and, if your model has one, open the deflation valve. If your model has two inflation / deflation valves, repeat step 8.

Important!
Before inflation, make sure you can land and secure your kite after inflation.
Before connecting the pump, complete a few strokes of the pump to remove any sand that may be in the pipe or body of the pump.
When inflating the kite for the first time, inflate it slowly so that the internal bladder can position itself inside the tube.
An under-inflated kite will deform under certain conditions.
Over-inflation can damage the bladders and tubes.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

In use, the kite is held by the handles on the strut with the front hand close to the leading edge and the rear hand close to the trailing edge. The wider you spread your hands, the more power you will get. Held only by the handle located on the leading edge, the kitewing will be neutralised, flying in the wind like a flag.
If you’re a beginner, we recommend you travel perpendicular to the wind and in low wind speeds. In directions perpendicular to the wind, to steer, you need to orient the inside face of the wing (lower surface) towards you, with your back to the wind, the front hand higher than the rear hand, and the leading edge in the direction you want to go.
