READ ALL SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
WARNING: WHEN USING AN ELECTRICAL PRODUCT, BASIC PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED TO AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE, AND/OR SERIOUS INJURY, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Fully assemble or install product prior to use.
  • Operate vacuum only at voltage specified on data plate on bottom of cleaner.
  • Do not leave vacuum when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning or servicing.
  • Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
  • Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children. To avoid injury or damage, keep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings.
  • Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments and products.
  • Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If product is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, call customer service at 1-888-768-2014 prior to continuing use.
  • Do not pull or carry by power cord, use cord as handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners.
  • Do not run vacuum over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle plug or vacuum with wet hands.
  • Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Brushroll continues to operate when in the upright position.
  • Turn off all controls before unplugging.
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not place vacuum on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.
  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or fine wood sandings or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use without inner filtration bag in place.

CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF DAMAGE:

  • Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product, as they may cause damage.
  • Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose machine to freezing temperatures.
  • Brushroll continues to rotate while product is turned on and handle is in the upright position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs and flooring, avoid tipping vacuum or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs or carpeted stairs.
  • With brushroll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to floor can result.

WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in the risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipmentgrounding conductor (C) and grounding plug (A).
The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet (B) that is properly installed and grounded inaccordance with all local codes and ordinances.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug (A) illustrated in Fig. 1.
A temporary adapter (D) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle (E) if a properly grounded outlet is not available (Fig. 2). The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (B) can be installed by a qualified electrician (Fig. 1). The green colored rigid ear, lug, or the like (F) extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground (G) such as a properly grounded outlet box cover (Fig. 2). ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the two screws from the connector assembly. Remove plastic insert by pulling upward.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - icon
  2. With ON/OFF switch facing the front, slide upper handle section over matching section of the connector assembly. Hold handle brace against upper handle and align screw holes. Insert one screw into top hole and one screw into the bottom hole, then tighten firmly until handle is no longer loose.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - ASSEMBLY 2

OPERATION

IMPORTANT: DO NOT operate the cleaner without a paper filter dust bag.

  1. First, make sure the disposable paper filter dust bag is in place.
  2. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and press the On (l) – OFF (O) switch on Helping Handle Assembly.

THERMAL PROTECTION
A thermal protector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates the cleaner will stop running. If this happens proceed as follows:

  1. Turn cleaner OFF (and remove battery pack).
  2. Empty dirty water tank.
  3. Inspect the nozzle for any obstructions. Clear obstructions if present.
  4. When cleaner is de-energized and motor cools for 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue.

If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner needs servicing.
Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

REPLACING THE FILTER DUST BAG

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts – Unplug before cleaning or servicing.
All paper dust bags are NOT the same. Your Hoover® disposable dust bags have been designed to be used with the Hoover® cleaner.
Using bags other than genuine Hoover® disposable bags will affect the cleaning ability of your cleaner and could cause damage to it.

    Hook bottom of bag collar opening under lip “B” of connector assembly. Pull up on bag collar and snap over lip “A” of connector.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial

  2. Press on edges of bag collar to insure bag is completely installed.
    IMPORTANT: Make sure bag collar is behind lips “A” and “B”. If it is not, dust will leak into outer bag. When filter bag is in place, close outer bag with zipper fastener.

REPLACING A WORN BELT

  2. Remove the belt from the brush roll pulley and the motor drive shaft.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - ASSEMBLY 7
  3. Loop the new belt over the motor drive shaft. Place the opposite end of the belt on the brush roll pulley.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - ASSEMBLY 8
  4. Rotate the brush roll all the way around three (3) times to ensure that no part of the belt is overhanging the end of the motor drive shaft.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - ASSEMBLY 9
  5. Replace the door and Hold Down Screw.

CLEARING A CLOG

If your vacuum cleaner does not pick up properly, or makes an unusual noise and the outer bag does not fluff/ balloon open, there may be a clog.

  2. To check the tube, first unhook retainer spring, releasing the bottom of the bag.HOOVER CH50300 Commercial Prime Lite Upright Vacuum - ASSEMBLY 12
  3. Twist lower collar counter clockwise to slide up.
    Pull tube out of base. Check for both ends for a blockage. If tube is not blocked, look into fan housing.

  1. Check the O-ring on tube and replace if damaged. Vacuum will not operate properly without the tube O-ring. Slide O-ring to approximately 2” from base of tube. Replace tube by first lining up slot at base of tube with inner tab inside fan housing. Then reinsert tube and push down until the tube is seated.   2. Replace and tighten collar until collar locking tabs are locked in place. Make sure collar is not cross threaded on housing.

CORD STORAGE: Press cord into clip so that the cord is resting alongside the handle. Wrap the power cord around the cord hooks for convenient storage.
LUBRICATION : The motor is equipped with bearings which contain sufficient lubrication for their lifetime. The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to motor bearings.

LIMITED WARRANTY FOR HOOVER® PRODUCT

1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Failure to register the product does not diminish product warranty rights.
WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS:
When used and maintained in normal Commercial use and in accordance with the User’s Manual, your Royal Appliance Mfg. Co product is warranted against original defects in material and workmanship for a full one year from date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”). During the Warranty Period, as described in this Warranty, Royal Appliance Mfg. Co will provide labor and parts, at no cost to you, to correct any such defect in products purchased in the United States, U.S. Military Exchanges and Canada.
HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM:
If this  roduct is not as warranted, take or send the product to an Authorized Warranty Service Dealer along with proof of purchase. If the batteries are not as warranted, either take or send the batteries along with proof of purchase to an authorized dealer or contact Hoover Commercial Customer Services at 1-888-768-2014.
WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
Certain parts for your Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. product require replacement in the ordinary course of use due to normal wear. These items include filters (after 90 days of purchase unless damaged by defect of another warrantable component), belts (after 90 days of purchase unless damaged by defect of another warrantable component), brushrolls or agitators (after 90 days of purchase unless damaged by defect of another warrantable component), and housings. This Warranty also does not cover: improper maintenance This warranty does not cover filters,  improper maintenance of the product, damage due to misuse, acts of God, nature, vandalism or other acts beyond the control of Royal Appliance Mfg. Co, owner’s acts or omissions, use outside the country in which the product was initially purchased and resales of the product by the original owner. This warranty does not cover pick up, delivery, transportation or house calls. However, if you mail your product to a Service Center for warranty service, cost of shipping will be paid one way. Please call Hoover Commercial Customer Services at 1-888-768-2014 for instructions on how to ship this product. This warranty does not apply to products purchased outside the United States (including its territories and possessions), a U.S. Military Exchange and Canada.
OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS
This warranty is not transferable and may not be assigned. This Warranty shall be governed and construed under the laws of the state of North Carolina. The Warranty Period will not be extended by any replacement of batteries or parts or repair performed under this Warranty.
THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AND REMEDY. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT WILL WARRANTOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE TO OWNER OR ANY PARTY CLAIMING THROUGH OWNER, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT OR STRICT PRODUCTS LIABILITY OR ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, EVEN IF THIS WARRANTY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NO WARRANTIES THAT ARISE BY OPERATION OF LAW, IF APPLICABLE, SHALL EXCEED THE DURATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights; you may also have others that vary from state to state.
