PE Fabric:

  • High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) fabric consists of clear, UV resistant, woven tapes, protected on both sides with 2 mil Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), UV stable, added UV inhibitor and chemically resistant coating. Overall thickness: 8 mils (± 0.25 mils). Overall weight: 4.95 ounces/square yard; ASTM D1919-75
  • Color: Blue and Black.

PE Foam:
Consist of white, closed cell, irradiated cross-linked, ⅛” thick, density: 2 pound per cubic foot, polyethylene and enhanced with proprietary Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) additive

XER Fabric:

  • Proprietary blend of Ethylene Interpolymer Alloy (EIA) with polyester scrim fabric.
  • Weight: 30 oz/yd² nominal.

  • Laminate has minimum 99.99% foam-fabric adhesion and less than 1% overall shrinkage after 15- minute full immersion boil test.
  • Laminate is non-permeable due to the nature of closed cell foam, LDPE coating and flame lamination.
  • Service temperature range: – 40° to + 102° Fahrenheit.
  • Chemical resistance is excellent due to polyethylene-based material.
  • Thickness after lamination process: 0.120” (± 0.06”)

Cover Construction:

Laminated materials are sewn together by using double needle, lockstitch machine with size 138 bonded, yarn-dyed black, UV resistant, polyester thread. Encapsulated with four (4) layers of 12 X 10 woven PE fabrics, weighted vinyl straps material is sewn along the length of the cover. To reinforce the heavily stressed areas in the center at both ends of the pool cover, 12” to 18” wide, black, XER fabric is sewn laterally and parallel with the tensile pull direction. Corners are strengthened by folding (doubling) the fabric material. Each ‘pull-point’ location is reinforced with six (6) layers of 12 X 10 woven PE fabric, noncorrosive grommets and ⅛” thick T-1 PVC load-dispersing plate. Solid ¾” diameter white Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene (UHMW- PE) dowel coupled with ¼” solid braided white polyester cord is securely tied to the ‘pull-point’ of the cover for easy cover retrieval. The first two and last two sections of each cover are sewn twice to form a “Quadra Seam”, where four lines of stitching are applied. Ladder and rail cut-outs, hinges and rounded corners are incorporated into the cover(s) (note: precautions are taken by rounding and reinforcing cut-out corners to prevent stress tears).
