Product Information

The SIMOLIO SM-621 Wireless TV Speakers are a 2.4GHz wireless speaker system designed for TV use. They come with a receiver that features a big dial knob for power ON/OFF and volume control. The receiver is rechargeable and portable, making it convenient to take anywhere. The system is compatible with analog RCA and 3.5mm audio output ports. It also has an AUDIO OUT jack for connecting to a headset, allowing you to turn an ordinary headset into a wireless
TV headset with volume control. Additionally, the receiver has an AUDIO IN jack for connecting to an audio device like PC, MP3 player, mobile phone, iPad, etc., turning it into a wired speaker.

The SM-621 features Voice Highlighting Tech, which reduces background noise from the TV and enhances dialogues, making it easier to understand difficult- to-hear words. It also has Automatic Signal Control (ASC), which adjusts the output volume to maintain stability and prevent strong signals from hurting the users’ listening experience.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Read the instruction manual carefully and completely before using the product. Keep the manual easily accessible at all times.
  2. Keep the product dry and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures.
  3. Before switching on the unit, ensure the receiver’s volume is set to the minimum. High volume may cause hearing damage, especially to children.
  4. Avoid contact with liquid. When cleaning the product and its accessories, disconnect the transmitter from the power adapter and use a slightly damp cloth.
  5. Only use the supplied power adapter.
  6. Handle the products with care and set them up on a stable, clean, and dust-free surface.
  7. Ensure the unit has adequate ventilation as it may get hot during use.
  8. Keep the product away from microwave ovens, mobile phones, WiFi routers, etc., to avoid electronic wave interference.
  9. Switch off the transmitter and receiver after use. If not using for a long time, pull out the power adapter from the wall socket.
  10. Do not attempt to open the unit. Only qualified personnel can provide services.
  11. If you are using a pacemaker or other medical device, consult your physician or the manufacturer of your medical device before using this product.

FEATURES

  1. Compatible with analog RCA and 3.5mm audio output ports.
  2. With the AUDIO OUT jack at the rear of receiver for connecting to a headset, you can turn an ordinary headset into a wireless TV headset with the volume control by the speaker’s big knob. With the special lightweight stethoscope headset we supplied, you can get more comfortable and private listening by muting TV.

  6. Three levels of TONE control is specially designed for people who have different sound frequency sensitiveness. They can select TONE (Treble/Normal/Bass) to find the optimum parameters, and hear the target audio source clearly.
  7. Supported with the latest 2.4GHz Digital Automatic Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum ( FHSS ) tech, you can have wireless freedom and crystal clear voice within a range of up to 100 feet.
  8. The receiver will work continuously for 6 hours with the replaceable & rechargeable Li-battery.

HOW TO USE

  2. Turn on the Transmitter and Receiver

Power the Transmitter (Ref. Fig 2-1)

Turn on the Transmitter (Ref. Fig 2-2)
Slide OFF/ON switch to “ON” position.

Power the Receiver
Two ways to power the receiver:

  1. Load the Li-battery into the battery chamber of the receiver with correct polarity and cover the battery case.(Ref. Fig 2-3)
  2. Use the additional power adapter to power the receiver.(Ref. Fig 2-4)
    Note: please charge the battery for 3 hours before the first use.

Turn on the Receiver
Rotate the big Volume knob clockwise until you hear a short “click”.

Connect the Transmitter to Your TV/Audio Source

Set the volume of the audio source to a level sufficient for people with normal hearing to clearly listen to the TV to ensure stable audio output.
i.e. set the TV box VOL ≥ 30 % (Ref. Fig 3-1) & TV VOL ≥ 40% (Ref. Fig 3-2)
For watching TV quietly without disturbing others, the right way is: Mute your TVby pressing the MUTE button on the remote control or choose any speaker option other than TV Speaker in the TV Sound Output settings.(Ref. Fig 3-3)

RCA Analog Connection
This part will explain how to connect the SIMOLIO SM-621 transmitter to your television, satellite, or cable box using an RCA analog audio cable.

  • If you cannot get to the back of your TV and you only watch the programs through a fixed TV box (cable/satellite box/DVD etc.), you can also use these instructions to install the system to your TV box.
  • Be aware that the base should be placed at least 4 feet away from your Router/smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box to avoid interference.

Step 1. Hook up SIMOLIO to the RCA Audio Out Port of the TV/other Audio Device

Plug the red and white ends of the audio cable into the analog RCA Audio Out ports (red and white ports labeled “AUDIO OUT”) on the back of the TV. Plug the single end of the audio cable into the port labeled “AUDIO IN” on the back of the transmitter.SIMOLIO-SM-621-2-4GHz-Wireless-TV0-Speaker-FIG

Step 2. TV Audio Out Checking and TV Speaker Setting (use TV remote control)
If you can not hear sound from your speaker after connecting:

  • Ensure use TV Red/White ports labeled “AUDIO OUT” or “OUTPUT”, other Red/White ports are incorrect. (Ref. Fig 3-5)

Notes:

  • If your TV only support single sound out, the TV’s speakers will be either automatically muted when you plug something into an audio out port (Optical/AUX/RCA, etc.) or they become disabled once you choose “External Speakers” as your TV’s audio output. It depends on TV circuit design.
    For most TVs, the TV’s internal speakers and an external audio device can work simultaneously. Such as, for some newer LG TVs, when do analog RCA audio connection, you can set the “Sound Out” to “Internal TV Speaker + Headphones”. And for some newer Samsung TVs, you can enable this feature by selecting “TV Speaker” from the TV Sound Output lists.
  • Your TV’s analog audio settings may be set to “Variable” or “Fixed”. If you want to be able to control your TV volume level separate from your SIMOLIO SM-621 volume level, you will need to make sure your TV is set to “Fixed”.
    Contact your TV manufacturer for assistance. (Ref. Fig 3-7)
    *Setting menu may be different depending on different TV brands and models.

3.5mm/AUX Analog Connection
This part is an alternative to 3.1 on page 7-9. This part will explain how to connect the SIMOLIO SM-621 transmitter to your television, satellite, or cable box using a 3.5mm/AUX analog audio cable.

  • If you cannot get to the back of your TV and you only watch the programs through a fixed TV box (cable/satellite box/DVD etc.), you can also use these instructions to install the system to your TV box.
  • If you connect the 3.5mm audio cable to the 3.5mm Audio Out port which is usually a Headphone port on your TV, your SIMOLIO SM-621 will still function properly, but the sound to your TV internal speakers will be muted. The port is usually labeled with an headphone icon.
  • Be aware that the base should be placed at least 4 feet away from your Router/smart WiFi TV/TV sticks/WiFi TV box to avoid interference.

Step 1. Hook up SIMOLIO to the 3.5mm Audio Out Port of the TV/other Audio Device

Step 2. TV Audio Out / TV Speaker Setting (use TV remote control)
If you can not hear sound from your speaker after connecting:

  • Ensure your TV speaker is set to “Headset”. (Ref. Fig 3-9)

  • Plug a wired headphone/earphone into the 3.5mm audio out port of the TV to test if you can hear the TV sound. (Ref. Fig 3-10SIMOLIO-SM-621-2-4GHz-Wireless-TV0-Speaker-FIG 11
    Notes:

  • Your TV’s audio settings may be set to “Variable” or “Fixed”. We recommend that you set your audio settings to “Fixed” for better audio quality when using this installation option. If you want to be able to control your TV volume level separate from your SIMOLIO SM-621 volume level, you will need to make sure your TV is set to “Fixed”. Contact your TV manufacturer for assistance.

  • Setting menu may be different depending on different TV brands and models.

Other Connections in Special Cases

TV/Audio Source only has Digital Optical or Coaxial Audio Out port Step 1. Purchase a Digital to Analog Converter and Set up as Shown in Fig 3-12
If your TV/Audio Source only has a digital optical or coaxial audio out port, you will need a digital to analog converter (DAC) for installation.SIMOLIO-

Step 2. TV Audio Format and TV Speaker Setting (use TV remote control)
If you can not hear sound from your speaker after connecting:

  • Ensure TV Audio Format is set to “PCM” or “Dolby/DTS” is OFF (This is IMPORTANT, Ref. Fig 3-13)
    PS: for certain smart Samsung models, the TV is retaining separate settings for regular TV and internet TV setup. When you turn to the Smart Hub for Internet source, please use the TV remote to go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Audio Format or Digital Output Audio Format, then select PCM.

  • Ensure your TV speaker is set to “External Speakers”. (Ref. Fig 3-14

  • Take turns to test RCA connection and 3.5mm /AUX connection.

Note:

Use SIMOLIO SM-621 to your AV Receiver with 6.35mm PHONE jack Step 1. Purchase a 6.35mm to 3.5mm Adapter and Set up as Shown in Fig 3-16

Step 2. Check the Performance of the AV Receiver’s Audio Output as Shown in Fig 3-17 If you can not hear sound from your speaker after connecting:

TONE Adjustment

Turn on the receiver and set the VOLUME to your required level. Select TONE (Treble / Normal / Bass)to hear more clearly. Select Treble to enhance female voice and child’s voice, select Bass to enhance male voice.

Use Two Sets of SIMOLIO 2.4GHz Wireless TV Speakers Simultaneously in the Same House

  • The two sets of SIMOLIO SM-621 should be put at least 10 meters away from each other when using them simultaneously.SIMOLIO-SM-621-2-4GHz-Wireless-TV0-Speaker-FIG 19
  • The two sets of SIMOLIO SM-621 should be put at least 10 meters away from each other when using them simultaneously.
    Note: If two speaker s are used on the same TV, only one transmitter needs to be connected, because one transmitter supports multiple speakers to work simultaneously.

Other Uses

How to Use the Stethoscope Headset with the Speaker
Follow the transmitter connection as part 3 on page 8~11, connect the stethoscope headset or your own headset to the AUDIO OUT jack at the rear of the speaker, you can turn an ordinary headset into a wireless TV headset to enjoy TV without the speaker voice disturbing your family. If you want to watch TV quietly alone, you can click MUTE key at your TV remote controller to OFF the TV internal speakers .
Note : please turn the dial knob at the speaker for headset’s volume adjustment.

How to Use the Receiver as a Wired Speaker

Charge the Speaker

  • A: Through the Transmitter Base
1. Connect the original power adapter with the transmitter and an electrical outlet, slide the OFF/ON switch to ON to power on the transmitter.
2. Put the speaker on the transmitter in correct direction. The red charging indicator on the speaker lights up and the speaker starts charging.
  • B: Through the Supplied AC Adapter
    Plug the supplied AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet, plug the other end of the AC adapter into the port labeled “DC 9V” on the back of the speaker.

Notes: The charging time is approx. 3 hours. The speaker will last approx 6  hours on a full charge, but will last a lesser or greater amount of time depending on the average volume level of the speaker.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PHENOMENA CAUSES SOLUTIONS













Speaker receiver doesn’t work,

no sound when used as a wireless speaker.

| The transmitter is not connected well.| Make sure the AC adapter and the audio cable of the transmitter are plugged well.


TV volume is turned down to

ZERO.

| Adjust the TV volume to a sufficient level. If you want to mute the TV, please click the MUTE key on the TV remote control or go to TV settings to OFF the Internal TV speaker.
Connection between the transmitter and audio source is wrong.| Make sure the connection is correct and in place between the transmitter and the audio source.
The audio sources (TV and TV related AV devices) are not turned on or their volume are set too low.| Turn on the audio sources, and adjust their volume to a sufficient level.
TV audio output is disable or not activated.| Follow the TV manual to change the TV’s AUDIO OUT setting to “External TV Speaker”.
The TV and TV related AV device’s digital audio out format is not set to PCM when using digital to analog converter.| Set it to PCM. For example: Settings > Sound >Digital Audio Out Format > Dolby/DTS/PCM, select PCM. Menu depends on TVs.
The battery is not properly loaded in the battery chamber, the battery is run out or the adapter is not connected firmly.| Properly load the battery, fully charge the battery, or firmly connect the adapter.
The receiver is powered off automatically.| Check the big knob of power on/off status, turn off the receiver and then restart.
There is headset or audio cable plugged into the AUDIO OUT port of the speaker.| Check the back of the speaker receiver and disconnect the audio cable or headset from the receiver.
The audio out port of the connected audio device is defective (no signal out ).| Connect to another audio source to have a test.


Poor sound or sound cuts in and out

when used as a wireless speaker.

| The audio source’s volume is set too low.| Adjust its volume properly.
The speaker is used for listening to streaming media (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc).| Place the transmitter base at least 4 feet away from smart WiFi TV/WiFi TV box/ TV sticks to avoid interference.
The battery’s power is too low.| Charge the battery fully.

The speaker is not turned on or the volume is too low.| Make sure the speaker is turned on by the big knob, volume set to a sufficient level.
Can not hear sound from the receiver when used as

The battery is not loaded to the battery chamber correctly.| Load the battery to the battery chamber according to the polarity correctly.
The receiver is not connected with the adapter properly.| Firmly connect the receiver with the adapter when charging alone.


Mutual interference when use

The distance between the two sets is too close.

| The two units should be put at least 10 meters away from each other.
Put the speaker on the transmitter base, then turn on the transmitter and the speaker, wait for a while until you hear sound out from the speaker, then you can take the speaker away to listen.

LIMITED WARRANTY

12 months limited warranty: The 12 months warranty will cover defects in manufacturing and product failure for a period of 12 months from the original date of purchase. The warranty period is not extended if we repair or replace a warranted product.
This warranty is provided at the discretion of Simolio Ltd. And does not cover cosmetic damage or damage due to acts of nature, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use, or modification of or to any part of the product. Accessories such as stethoscope headset, AC adapter, ear tips and batteries are not covered under this warranty.
