Product Information

The Visio Stencils feature allows users to access 2D stencils (shapes) of Lenovo ThinkSystem and ThinkEdge systems for use with Microsoft Visio. These stencils are available in ZIP files, which contain VSSX files that can be used in Visio. The stencils cover various Lenovo servers, including rack and tower servers, storage systems, blade servers, chassis, switches, and other components. Users can find the stencils on visiocafe.com.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Download the ZIP file containing the desired VSSX file(s) from the provided links.
  2. Save the VSSX file(s) to the “DocumentsMy Shapes” folder on your computer.
  3. In Microsoft Visio, ensure the Shapes pane is open by clicking on “View” > “Tasks Panes” > “Shapes”.
  4. In the Shapes pane, click on “More Shapes” > “My Shapes” and select one of the Lenovo packages.
  5. Drag and drop the required shape(s) from the selected package onto your Visio document.

Tips for Use:

  • The VSSX files require Microsoft Visio 2013 or later versions.
  • The stencils work best on pages with a scale of 1:2 to 1:30. Template pages with the proper settings can be downloaded from the VisioCafe template page. Avoid using the Visio Blank page, which has a scale of 1:1 (no scale), as it may cause issues.

Lenovo has partnered with VisioCafe.com to offer 2D stencils (shapes) of ThinkSystem and ThinkEdge systems for use with Microsoft Visio. The links below are to ZIP files which contain VSSX files for use in Visio.

Visio stencils of Lenovo servers are available from visiocafe.com, as follows:

  • ThinkSystem and ThinkEdge rack and tower servers:
    • E350, SE450
    • SD630 V2, SD650 V2, SD650-N V2
    • SR630 V2, SR650 V2, SR670 V2, SR850 V2, SR860 V2, ST650 V2
    • SR635, SR645, SR655, SR665
    • SD530, SR530, SR550, SR630, SR650, SR670, SR850, SR850P, SR950, ST550
    • SR150, SR250, ST50, ST250
    • SR250 V2, ST50 V2, ST250 V2
  • ThinkSystem storage:
    • DE Series

  • ThinkSystem blade servers:
    • SN550 V2
    • SN550, SN850
    • Enterprise Chassis, switches, and other components
    • Older Flex System servers

To use the stencils, use the following guide:

  1. Open the zip file and save the VSSX file(s) to your Documents\My Shapes folder.
  2. In Visio, ensure the Shapes pane is open by clicking View > Tasks Panes > Shapes .
  3. In the Shapes pane, click More Shapes > My Shapes and select one of the Lenovo packages
  4. You can then drag/drop the required shape onto your document

Tips for use:

  1. These VSSX files require Visio 2013 or later
  2. All stencils work best on pages of scale 1:2 to 1:30 – Template pages with the proper settings are available for download from the VisioCafe template page . Do not use the Visio “Blank page” which uses a scale of 1:1 (no scale), it has been found to cause a lot of problems.
