Product Information

  • The product is a Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive with USB 3.0 connectivity. It features two USB-C ports, which require a micro-B to USB-C cable (not included) for connection.
  • The drive is preformatted as exFAT, making it compatible for use with both PC and Mac. However, if you intend to use the drive with Time Machine on a Mac, it needs to be reformatted specifically for Mac. Please note that reformatting the drive will result in the deletion of all previously stored data.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect the Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive to your computer using the USB 3.0 cable.
  2. If you have a device with USB-C ports, use a micro-B to USB-C cable (not included) to connect the drive.
  3. If you are using a Mac and plan to use Time Machine, reformat the drive specifically for Mac. Remember that this will erase all data on the drive, so ensure you have a backup.
  4. When disconnecting the drive, always follow the safe removal procedures for your operating system to protect your data.
  5. If you require warranty service, contact an authorized Seagate service center or visit www.seagate.com/support/expansiondesktop/ for further assistance.
