iOptron V1 1901280001 iPolar Firmware Upgrade

The iPolar is a device that allows for firmware upgrades to enhance its functionality. To upgrade the firmware, you will need to follow the instructions provided below.
Product Usage Instructions
- Download the iPolar Firmware Upgrade Utility from the following link: iPolar Firmware Upgrade Utility
- Unzip the downloaded file.
- Connect the iPolar or mount it to your computer.
- Run the iPolar iGuider Upgrade Utility.exe.
- If the utility fails to open or displays an error message, run vcredit_x86 2013 12.0.40664 Final.exe.
- The utility will display the current firmware version of your iPolar. If you have both iGuider and iPolar connected, ensure that iPolar is selected (1).
- Click on “FW Browse” and select firmware iPolar_V3_XXXX first. If an error message “Failed to load firmware!” pops up, click “OK”. Then choose firmware iPolar_V2_XXXX. If there is still an error message, it means the iPolar is V1 and cannot be upgraded.
- Click on “Start” to begin the upgrade process. Note: Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the power during the upgrade to avoid bricking the device.
- Wait until the software prompts that the update is complete and the device will restart.
- Click “OK” to complete the upgrade.
- After the firmware upgrade, make sure to download the latest iPolar.exe software.
The purpose of this iOptron iPolar firmware upgrade is to improve the device
connectivity. If your iPolar is working perfectly, you may skip the process
and keep using the iPolar and iPolar software.
If the iPolar firmware IS upgraded, ONLY iPolar software V2.72 and later
versions will support the iPolar. This firmware upgrade WILL NOT work for an
iPolar from first batch (V1 1901280001).
Upgrade Package
The iPolar firmware upgrade package consists of three parts:
- Firmware Upgrade Utility;
- Two firmware for iPolar V2 and V3;
- This instruction.
Installation
To upgrade the iPolar firmware:

Download iPolar Firmware Upgrade package form following link: https://www.ioptron.com/v/Support/iPolar_FirmwareUpgrade_230415.zip

Unzip it.

Connect the iPolar/mount to the computer. Run iPolar iGuider Upgrade Utility.exe.
If it can’t be opened or displays an error message, please run vcredit_x86 2013 12.0.40664 Final.exe -
The utility will display the current iPolar firmware version. If you have both iGuider and iPolar connected, please make sure that the iPolar is selected:

Click on FW Browse. Select firmware iPolar_V3_XXXX first.
If an error message “Failed to load firmware!” window pops up,
Click OK. Then choose firmware iPolar_V2_XXXX:
If there is still an error message, the iPolar is V1 and the firmware can’t be upgraded.
Click on Start to start upgrading.
NOTE: Please do not disconnect the cable or turn off the power. The device may be bricked and have to be sent back to the factory for firmware reinstallation

Wait until the software prompt “Update is complete and the device will restart”.

Click OK to complete the upgrade.

Please make sure to download the latest iPolar.exe software after the firmware upgrade.
