TMC-2 Monitor Controller
The TMC-2 is a monitor controller designed to be used with the TMC Reference.
It is an updated version of the TMC-1, with added features and improvements.
The TMC-2 has 13 additional keys compared to the TMC-1, but it is only
slightly wider at 20mm.
One of the key enhancements of the TMC-2 is the addition of illuminated keys.
This makes it easier to locate and use the keys, especially in a dark studio
environment. The software on the TMC-2 is identical to the TMC-1 software,
with the exception of supporting the extra keys and two menu changes.
TMC-2 User guide
This document only describes connection details and setup considerations when using TMC-2 and should be used with the TMC Reference.
The TMC-1 has been available for three years now, following suggestions from
some users we have added the TMC-2. The TMC-2 has 13 more keys than the TMC-1
but it is only 20mm wider.
As can be seen in the photo above we have added the following new keys
- Six input select keys in a column on the left
- A Master [Link] key or the right, used to Link the main output to all or selected cue outputs
- Three [Scene] keys on the right, These can be used to preset multiple settings but are initially programmed to select between the three speaker sets.
- A dedicated T/B switch on the Right, you can define the Talkback function in the setup menu
- Two extra User keys below the TFT screen, in the picture above they have not been assigned.
When working is a dark studio we noticed that it could be difficult to find the keys, on the TMC-2 the key LED’s are always slightly illuminated making easy to locate the keys.
The software on the TMC-2 is identical to the TMC-1 software apart from supporting the extra keys and two menu changes as detailed below
Setup Menu Changes
There are two menu changes in the TMC-2 compared to the TMC-1:
- The T/B key function can now also be used as a Scene key when talkback is not used, such as in Film Re-Mix scenarios.
- The Input+Scene option has been removed from the menu, as the keys for these functions are always fitted on the TMC-2.
