Master Lock 5441EC Electronic Wall Mount Lock Box Key Safe
UNLOCK WITH A MOBILE DEVICE

Remove the lock box and instructions from the package.

On your Android or iOS mobile device, visit the app store to download the FREE Master Lock Vault eLocks app. To check your device compatibility, visit: http://Www.masterlock.com/masterlockvaultelocks/app-download-device-compalibility
(Note: There are two Master Lock Vault apps. Download the Master Lock Vault eLocks version.)

Launch the app and create an account, or sign in to your existing Master Lock Vault account.

In the Master Lock Vault locks app, touch Add a Lock(+)

Enter the Activation Code, from the blue box above, on your mobile device to register the lockbox. Once your lock box is registered, it will display in the Lock List inside the app. Touch the name of the lock box to access the lock details and manage additional settings, view the access history, or share access with guests.

By default, your lock is in Touch Unlock mode. Touch any button on the lock box keypad to wake and unlock it. When the light turns green, open it within 5 seconds or it will relock. The green light means the door can now be opened by pulling on it. (Note: You can change the phone-to-lock box communication range in the app settings, by using the Device Calibration feature.)

Remove the lock box and instructions from the package.

Enter the Primary Code, located in the black box above, into the lock box keypad.
( Note : Do not pull on the door when entering the code and do not press the clear button.(see illustration 2). Entering the Primary Code will erase the Try Me code.) -
When the lock box light turns green, open it within 5 seconds or it will relock.
(Note: Pressing the clear button erases all input and restarts the process.)
REMOVE SHACKLE
- Once you have downloaded the Master Lock Vault locks app and registered your lock box, press any button on the lock box keypad to wake your lockbox. Touch the Remove Shackle button on the Lock Details page, which is found under Manage Lock. Your lock box will again light green, and you can then remove the shackle within 5 seconds.
- To remove the shackle using the lock box keypad:
- Press the clear button and the first digit of your primary code, from the black box above, simultaneously (See illustration i).
- Release the clear button and first digit, then enter the rest of the primary code.
- When the light turns green, remove the shackle within 5 seconds or it will relock. (Note: Pressing the clear button erases all input and restarts the process.)

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
HOW TO REPLACE BATTERY
- A low battery will be indicated through an email notification, the app, or by a yellow light on the lockbox.
- Unlock and open the lock box door.
- Using a Flat Head screwdriver, open the battery compartment door and remove the battery.
- lnstall a new CR123A battery, making sure to position the battery with positive and negative sides facing the proper direction as indicated on the door and battery compartment (See illustration 4).
- Close the battery door and tighten the screw.
HOW TO UNLOCK WHEN THE BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DRAINED
- If the battery drains while the lock box door is closed, you can jump it using an external 9- volt battery.
- Locate the battery jump contacts on the bottom of the lock box (see illustration 2).
- Hold a new 9-volt battery underneath the lock box with the positive ( +) and negative (-) terminals pressed against the jump contacts (see illustration 3), in the orientation indicated on the bottom of the lock box (see illustration 2).
- While holding the battery in place, and with an authorized mobile device within range of the lock box and in Touch Unlock mode, press any keypad button on the lock box. If the lock box does not unlock, or an authorized mobile device is not available, enter the Primary Code on the lock box keypad; while holding the 9-volt battery in place.
- When lock box is opened, install a new CR123A battery.
Please note that after installing a new battery, the low battery icon will no longer display in the app after the lock box and app communicate with each other. However, it will take between 2 and 72 hours for the yellow LED to stop displaying on the lock itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can more than one person have master app, means 2 or more people able to give out access codes and manage the app?
I am a Realtor that just started using Master Lock model 5440D. When another real estate licensee wants to show one of my listings, no matter what board they belong to or where in the state (or country for that matter), I can give them access for a time period or unlimited access.
Do you need wifi and internet access at the location to connect via iphone?
My unit does not connect to wifi. It does pair up via bluetooth with my phone. You cannot remote access it via a wifi connection, but you can activate it when your phone is close. We program in guest codes and have a master code that we use and this has worked well so far at our vacation rental. If you need a wifi enabled device, this is not it.
Doe you need to pair the phone manually first? i need to grant access to air bnb guests and do not live locally.
You can add a guest through the app. The guest will receive an invite. You do not need to be at the lock to add a guest. When their phone is near the lock it will sync with it. There is also a manual override you can provide and change as you need to.
Did they fix the fact that removing the two screws on the front will open the box?
When connected to Master Lock Vault Enterprise, this 5440EC appears as a 5440D. This is the same model that was tested on the BosnianBill YouTube channel, where removing the black plastic on the front cover reveals 2 screws that can be removed to open the box. In addition, Master Lock Customer Service confirmed via email that only the model number was changed from 5440D to 5440EC, and otherwise, they are the same lockbox. However, I did not actually remove the black plastic to verify the two screws were there before I returned it.
How many numbers for each code?
Though the lock is designed primarily to be opened with a Bluetooth connection, it can also be opened with manual codes for which 8 numbers can be used for each code.
How do you open the lock when the battery is dead?

No, it does not unlock with your fingerprint.
Can you set dates and times during which a code (or the box) can or can't be accessed?
Yes. This is a great feature of this product that you can share a code for someone to use, then restrict that code from being used later. You could also set time stamps so this function is automated.
Do you receive an email when someone accesses the box?
The administrator of the lock will receive an email notification when the lockbox is accessed via Bluetooth if an email notification is activated.
How far away from the lock box can you be and still set temporary codes? Is 30 miles too far away?

Do I need wifi for the device to communicate with my phone?
the unit I have is Bluetooth, not wifi. you can communicate with your phone via a Bluetooth connection with the lock, but it is not meant to connect to a wifi network, or at least mine is not, so no wifi needed.
Can this be used without the shackle if i dont want the wall mount version?
This lock box functions the same way with and without the shackle, however removing the shackle will leave two unsealed holes in the top of the box.
What is the bluetooth connectivity range?
For this product, you will need to be within physical arm's reach of the product. You will have to open the door physically after you have unlocked it with the app via Bluetooth connectivity.
