Product Information:

This is a vertical freezer with the model number JCV282NFI. It is designed for daily use and has compartments for frozen foods and fresh food storage. SAFETY INFORMATION

In the interest of your safety and to ensure the correct use, before installing and first using the appliance, read this user manual carefully, including its hints and warnings. To avoid unnecessary mistakes and accidents, it is important to ensure that all people using the appliance are thoroughly familiar with its operation and safety features. Save these instructions and make sure that they remain with the appliance if it is moved or sold, so that everyone using it through its life will be properly informed on appliance use and safety. For the safety of life and property keep the precautions of these user´s instructions as the manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by omission.

CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE SAFETY

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given super vision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children aged from 3 to 8 years are allowed to load and unload this appliance.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised.
  • Keep all packaging well away from children. There is risk of suffocation.
  •  If you are discarding the appliance pull the plug out of the socket, cut the connection cable (as close to the appliance as you can) and remove the door seals is to replace an older appliance having a spring lock (latch) on the door or lid, be sure to make that spring lack unusable before you discard the old appliance. This will prevent it from becoming a death trap for a child.

GENERAL SAFETY

  • WARNING! Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
  • WARNING! Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • WARNING! Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • WARNING! Do not use other electrical appliances (such as ice cream makers) inside of refrigerating appliances, unless they are approved for this purpose by the manufacture. WARNING! Do not touch the light bulb if it has been on for a long period of time because it could be very hot. 1)
  • WARNING! When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged. WARNING! Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power suppliers at the rear of the appliance.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
1. If there is a light in the compartment.
  • The refrigerant isobutane (R-600a) is contained within the refrigerant circuit of the appliance, a natural gas with a high level of environmental compatibility, wich is nevertheless flammable.
  • During transportation and installation of the appliance, be certain that none of the components of the refrigerant circuit become damaged.
    • Avoid open flames and sources of ignition
    •  Thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated
  • It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify this product in any away. Any damage to the cord may cause a short circuit, fire and/or electric shock.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    •  Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    •  Bed and breakfast type environments;
    • Catering and similar non-retail applications.
  • WARNING! Any electrical components (plug, power cord, compressor and etc.) must be replaced by a certified service agent or qualified service personnel.
  • WARNING! The light bulb supplied with this appliance is a “special use lamp bulb” usable only with the appliance supplied. This “special use lamp” is not usable for domestic lighting.1)
  • Power cord must not be lengthened.
  • Make sure that the power plug is not squashed or damaged by the back of the appliance. A squashed or damaged power plug may over heat and cause a fire.
  • Make sure that you can come to the mains plug of the appliance.
  • Do not pull the mains cable.
  • If the power plug socket is loose, do not insert the power plug. There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
  •  You must not operate the appliance without the lamp.
  • This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it.
  •  Do not remove nor touch items from the freezer compartment if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
  •  Avoid prolonged exposure of the appliance to direct sunlight.

DAILY USE

  • Do no put hot on the plastic parts in the appliance.

  •  Do not place food products directly against the rear wall.

  • Frozen food must not be re-frozen once it has been thawed out. 1)

  •  Store pre-packed frozen food in accordance with the frozen food manufacturer’s instructions. 1)

  • Appliance’s manufacture’s storage recommendations should be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions.

  •  Do not place carbonated of fizzy drinks in the freezer compartment as it creates pressure on the container, which may cause it to explode, resulting in damage to the appliance. 1)

  • Ice lollies can cause frost burns if consumed straight from the appliance.1)

  •  To avoid contamination of food, please respect the following instructions.

  •  Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.

  • Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems.

  • Clean water tanks if they have not been used for 48h; flush the water system connected to a water supply if water has not been drawn for 5 days.
    If there is freezer compartment.

  • Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the refrigerator, so that it is not contact with or drip onto other food.

  • Two-star frozen-food compartments ( if they are presented in the appliance) are suitable for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream and making ice cubes.

  • One-, two- and three- star compartments (if they are presented in the appliance) are not suitable for the freezing of fresh food.

  • If the appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry and leave the door open to prevent mount developing within the appliance.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • Before maintenance, switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
  • Do not clean the appliance with metal objects.
  • Do not use sharp objects to remove frost from the appliance. Use a plastic scraper.1)
  •  Regularly examine the drain in the refrigerator for defrosted water. If necessary, clean the drain.
  • If the drain is blocked, water will collect in the bottom of the appliance.2)

INSTALLATION

Important! For electrical connection carefully follow the instructions given in specific paragraphs.

  • Unpack the appliance and check if there are damages on it. Do not connect the appliance if it is damaged. Report possible damages immediately to the place you bought it. In that case retain packing.
  •  It is advisable to wait at least four hours before connecting the appliance to allow the oil to flow back in the compressor.
  • Adequate air circulation should be around the appliance, lacking this leads to overheating. To achieve sufficient ventilation follow the instructions relevant to installation.
  • Wherever possible the spacers of the product should be against a wall to avoid touching or catching warm parts (compressor, con-denser) to prevent possible burn.
  • The appliance must not be located close radiators or cookers.
  • Make sure that mains plug is accessible after the installation of the appliance.

SERVICE

  •  Any electrical work required to do the servicing of the appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.
  •  This product must be serviced by an authorized Service Center, and only genuine spare parts must be used.

ENERGY SAVING

  • Don’t put hot food in the appliance;
  • Don’t pack food close together as this prevents air circulating;
  •  Make sure food don’t touch the back of the compartment(s);
  •  If electricity goes off, don´t open the door(s);
  •  Don’t open the door(s) frequently;
  • Don’t keep the door(s) open for too long time;
  • Don’t set the thermostat on exceeding cold temperatures;
  •  Some accessories, such as drawers, can be removed to get larger storage volume and lower energy consumption.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

  • This appliance does not contain gasses which could damage the ozone layer, in either its refrigerant circuit or insulation materials. The appliance shall not be discarded together with the urban refuse and rubbish. The insulation foam contains flammable gases: the appliance shall be disposed according to the appliance regulations to obtain from your local authorities. Avoid damaging the cooling unit, especially the heat exchanger.
  • The materials used on this appliance marked by the symbol are recyclable.
  • The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be taken to the appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health,which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local council, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

PACKAGING MATERIALS

  • The materials with the symbol are recyclable.
  • Dispose the packaging in a suitable collection container to recycle it.

DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
  2. Cut off the mains cable and discard it.
    Warning! During using, service and disposal the appliance, please pay attention to  symbol similar as left side, which is located on rear of appliance (rear panel or compressor) and with yellow or orange color.
    It’s risk of fire warning symbol. There are flammable materials in refrigerant pipes and compressor. Please be far away fire source during using service and disposal.

BEFORE INSTALLING THE APPLIANCE

  • Before connecting your freezer to the power supply, check that the voltage stated on the rating label of your appliance corresponds to the voltage in your home. A different voltage could damage the appliance.
  •  The plug is the only way to unplug the appliance and should therefore be accessible at all times. To turn off main power to the appliance, turn it off and then detach the plug from the outlet.
  •  The appliance must be grounded. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages that may occur as a result of usage without grounding.

INSTALLATION

  •  Install the appliance in a dry, well ventilated room. The installation location should neither be exposed to direct sunlight nor near a heat source, e.g. a cooker, radiator, etc.
  • To ensure adequate ventilation for the appliance, alloow a minimum of 10 cm of airsapce on each side of the cabinet.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE

This appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperature between 16ºC and 38ºC. If these tempeartures are exceeded, i.e. colder or warmer, theappliance will not operate correctly. If the ambient temperatures are exceeded for long periods, the temperature in the freezer will rise above -18ºC and food spoilage may occur.

BEFORE PLACING FOOD IN THE FREEZER

  •  Remove all packaging.
  • Allow the appliance to run empty for 2-3 hours so the compartments can cool to the appropriate temperature.
  • Clean the inside of the appliance with warm water and a liquid detergent to remove manufacturing and transportation dust.

POWER FAILURE

  • If there is a power failure, do not open the door. Frozen food should not be affected if the power failure lasts for less than 19 hours.
  • Do not refreeze frozen foods that have thawed completely. Food may be dangerous to eat.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

  1.  Display on for 3 seconds with a long buzz when the product is connected with electricity.

  2.  A short buzz will be activated everytime pressing the key

  3.  There are 4 inductive keys on the display:

    • Temperature Up +
    • Temperature Down –
    • Fast Cooling
    • Child Safety Lock
  4. Power Failure Memory
    Product remembers the following settings in case of power failure: compressor running time and setting temperature.

  5. Door Alarm
    If door open lasts more than 2 minutes, the buzzer starts to 1 minute within 10 minutes), and the buzzer will stop alarming alarm, and it will alarm every effectively. 1 minute backward (3 rings every after 10 minutes).

  6. Key Function

  7. Child Safety Lock

  * Press 3 seconds to activate/deactivate child safety mode.
  * Prompt invalid operation when pressing any key after entering child safety mode (digit flashing rapidly in display)
2.  **Temp up + & Temp down –**
  * Adjusting inside temperature from -15ºC to -25ºC (cyclic adjustment not allowed).
  * Temperature setting without any further operation after 5 seconds (digit flash stop).
3.  **Fast Freezing**
  * Under temperature setting mode, press Fast Freezing button to enter fast freezing mode.
  * Display shows “FF”, working time for fast cooling is 26 hours.
  * After 26 hours, fast freezing mode automatically exits, temperature returns to the setting value before fast freezing mode.

MOVING YOUR APPLIANCE

  • If the appliance is turned off for any reason wait for 10 minutes before turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration system pressures to equalize before restarting.
    • Turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket. Remove all food.
    •  Relocate and install. If the appliance has been left on its side for any length of time, leave it standing upright for least 10 minutes before turning on.
  • Your appliance uses isobutane (R600a) as a refrigerant. Although R600a is an environmentally friendly and natural gas, it is explosive. Therefore you should be careful during shipment and installation to prevent your appliance’s cooler elements from being damaged. In the event of a leak caused by damage to the cooler elements, move your freezer from open flame or heat sources and ventilate the room where the appliance is located for a few minutes.

FREEZING AND STORING FOOD IN THE FREEZER

  • To store deep-frozen food.
  • To make ice cubes.
  • To freeze food.
    NOTE: Ensure that the freezer door has been closed properly.

PURCHASING FROZEN FOOD

  •  Packaging must not be damaged.
  • Use by the ‘use by /best before/best by/’date.
  • If possible, transport deep-frozen food in an insulated bag and place quickly in the freezer.

STORING FROZEN FOOD
Store at -18°C or colder. Avoid opening the freezer door unnecessarily.

FREEZING FRESH FOOD

  • Freeze fresh and undamaged food only.
  • To retain the best possible nutritional value, flavour and colour, vegetables should be  blanched before freezing. Aubergines, peppers, zucchini and asparagus do not require blanching.
    NOTE: Keep food to be frozen away from food which is already frozen blanching.

THE FOLLOWING FOODS ARE SUITABLE FOR FREEZING:
Cakes and pastries, fish and seafood, meat, game, poultry, vegetables, fruit, herbs, eggs without shells, dairy products such as cheese and butter, ready meals and leftovers such as soups, stews, cooked meat and fish, potato dishes, soufflés and desserts.

THE FOLLOWING FOODS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR FREEZING:
Types of vegetables, which are usually consumed raw, such as lettuce or radishes, eggs in shells, grapes, whole apples, pears and peaches, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, soured milk, sour cream, and mayonnaise.

PACKING FROZEN FOOD

To prevent food from losing its flavour or drying out, place food in airtight packaging.

  1. Place food in packaging.
  2. Remove air.
  3. Seal the wrapping.
  4. Label packaging with contents and dates of freezing.

SUITABLE PACKAGING:

  • Plastic film, tubular film made of polyethylene, aluminium foil.
  • These products are available from specialist outlets.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE TIMES OF FROZEN FOOD IN THE FREEZER

These times vary depending on the type of food. The food preserved from 1 to 12 months that you freeze can be (minimum at -18°C).

Bacon, casseroles, milke 1 month
Bread, ice cream, sausages, pies, prepared shellfish, oily fish 2 months
Non-oily fish, shellfish, pizza, scones and muffins 3 months
Ham, cakes, biscuits, beef and lamb chops, poultry pieces 4 months

Butter, vegetables (blanched), eggs whole and yolks, cooked crayfish, minced meat (raw), pork (raw)| 6 months
Fruit (dry or in syrup), egg whites, beef (raw), whole chicken, lamb (raw), fruit cakes| 12 months

NEVER FORGET:

  •  When you freeze fresh foods with a ‘use by /best before/best by/’ date, you must freeze them before this date expires.
  •  Check that the food was not already frozen. Indeed, frozen food that has thawed completely must not be refrozen.
  •  Once defrosted, food should be consumed quickly.

MAKING ICE CUBE

Fill the ice cube tray (sup plied) with ¾ full of drinking water and place in the freezer. If the ice cube tray is stuck to the compartment or drawer, loosen with a blunt tool only. To loosen the ice cubes, twist the ice cube tray slightly or hold briefly under flowing water.

DEFROSTING

The freezer defrosts automatically.
Do not scrape off hoarfrost or ice with a knife or a pointed object. Doing this many damage the refrigerant tubes.

  1. Remove the frozen food and place temporarily it in a cool loaction.
  2. Set the temperature control knob to the OFF position and disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
  3. To accelerate the defrosting process, place a pan of hot water on a stand in the freezer compartment.
  4. Wipe up condensation with a cloth or sponge.
  5. Wipe dry the freezer.
  6. Plug in the appliance and adjust the temperature control knob as desired.
    Put the frozen food back in the freezer.

TIPS FOR SAVING ENERGY

For the most energy-efficient use of your appliance:

  •  Ensure your freezer has adequate ventilation as recommended in the instructions.
  • Allow warm food and drinks cool down before placing in the appliance.
  • Keep door openings to a minimum.
  • Open the appliance as briefly as possible.
  • Regularly defrost the freezer regularly to remove the layer of frost.
  •  Ensure that the door is always closed properly.

OPERATING NOISES

Normal noises:

  • Motors are running.
  • Refrigerant is flowing through the tubing.

DOOR CHANGE

  • If you need to hinge your door to the opposite side, it is recommended that you call your local authorised service agent to make this conversation or ask a technician.
  • Before you reverse the door, you should ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty. It is recommended to use a crosshead screwdriver and spanner (both not supplied).

HANDLE INSTALLATION

  1. Mount the bolt covers to the bolts.

  2. Align the screw holes of the handle to those on the side of the door.

  3. Tighten the screws to fix the handle to t h e door.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

  1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
  2.  Take out the food and store in a cool location.
  3.  Clean the appliance with a soft cloth, warm water and detergent.
  4. Wipe the door seal with clear water only and then wipe dry thoroughly.
  5. After cleaning reconnect and adjust the temperature control knob as desired.
  6. Put the food back into the appliance.

BULB REPLACEMENT

  • The LED lights in the fridge cannot be replaced by the user.
  • If the LED lights stop working, please contact the local authorised service agent.

CLEANING TIPS

  • Remove all shelves, door shelves, vegetable containers, removable accessories (such as egg tray and ice cube tray if included) and/or drawers from the appliance. Wash them in warm soapy water with a soft sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Wipe the interior parts (including door switch, temperature control knob and lamp cover) with a damp cloth soaked in a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid. or stubborn stains, use baking soda.
  • Wipe down the doors, including edges, with a microfiber cloth dampened with a mild dishwashing liquid and water. se a wet sponge and soft brush (such as toothbrush) to remove any stuck-on food.

GENERAL WARRANTY TERMS

  1. The warranty is valid only on presentation of invoice of purchase.
  2. This WARRANTY is limited exclusively to parts substitution ineffective due to faulty manufacture, made in our workshops.
  3. he elimination of several faults of the scope of the guarantee is made for repair or replacement of defective parts, according to the discretion of our technical services. Defective parts are our property.
  4. Are not covered under warranty damage caused by transportation, neglect or poor use, improper assembly or installation, as well as external influences such as: lightning strikes or power, flooding, humidity, etc..
  5. Lose warranty, all appliances that are not being used according to the instructions or connected to FEEDING NETWORKS not guarantee a constant voltage of 220/240V.
  6. The warranty does not cover damages for personal injury or damage caused directly or indirectly in any capacity whatsoever.
  7. This warranty terminates when it is found to have been undergoing repairs, alterations or interventions by any person not authorized by Jocel.

THE WARRANTY EXPIRES

  1. If the appliance has not been installed by an Accredited Technician.
  2. Exceeded the current legal period, for home appliances and for industrial appliances, warranty expires and assistance will be made by charging the costs of labour hand, according to current fees
  3. With the modification or disappearance of the nameplate of the appliance.
    NOTE: GLASSES AND LAMPS ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.
