INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Turn off the mains power supply.

  2. Unpack the fixture carefully and place it on a flat surface.

  3. Remove the vent grille by unclipping and pulling away from the vent.

  4. Consider the position that you wish the exhaust fan to be installed in carefully. Take care to avoid structural elements and existing wiring when selecting the position for your exhaust fan.

  5. Mark and cut out a 155mm diameter hole into the ceiling for the entry point and exit point.

  6. Cut the hole in the ceiling using a suitable plaster saw, jig saw or hole saw. Always wear protective clothing, safety glasses and an appropriate respirator mask when cutting into plaster. Double check there are no
hidden electrical cables or ceiling battens before cutting.

  7. Consider the optimal position for the exhaust fan, ideally centered between both vents.

  8. Ensure that the exhaust fan is located within 3m of each vent so that the 1 x 3m ducting can be fitted.
    If required cut ducting shorter.

  9. Remove the main body (Fig.1) by unclipping the plastic clasps (loosen locking screws first) and lifting the main body out of the housing base.

  10. Secure the housing base to a suitable mounting point using the mounting holes in the base (Fig.2) and refit the main body (Fig.3) ensuring the direction of airflow is facing as per desired operation. Ensure clasps are attached firmly and locking screws tightened.TDX 730355 Inline and Exhaust Kit fig 1

  11. Insert the two pin power cable into an existing power point socket in the ceiling cavity as previously installed by a licensed electrical contractor.
NOTE: If installation of power sockets is required, it must be carried out by a Licences Electrical Contractor in accordance to ASINZS 3000.

  12. Unfold the two 3m ducts and attach to both vents and ends of the exhaust fan using the supplied duct clamps.

  13. Try to avoid sharp 90 degree angles in the ducting as this will severely decrease airflow. Also ensure ducting is smoothly laid out and stretched out firmly.

  14. Attach both vents to the ceiling using suitable screws for the surface material.

  15. Replace the grille by pressing against the vent until it snaps into place.

  16. Turn on the power at the mains.

  17. Switch unit on at the wall switch.

  18. When cleaning grille, switch off all power, remove grille and wipe with damp cloth. Allow grille to dry before re-fitting.
