WIRING AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: For your protection,  all mains (240V) equipment used outdoors, in damp or wet conditions should be supplied from a correctly fused source and protected by an approved R.C.D. to BS7071 or BS7288 or 854293. If in doubt, seek advice.

MAIN WIRE CONNECTIONS: To connect the wires, follow the instructions below:

  1. Connect the Brown wire to terminal L
  2. Connect the Blue wire to terminal N
  3. Connect the Green/Yellow wire to E + terminal

FLEX MOUNTING:

  1. Use the cap assembly tool to unscrew the locking ring and remove the plug or socket inserts for wiring.
  2. As appropriate to the main body type, thread the cable through component parts as shown in the illustrations.
  3. Strip insulation from cable as required.
  4. For cable mounted units, slide the gland cage and gland down cable and into the main body.
  5. Screw the gland nut fully down. It is essential to ensure that the gland nut is fully tightened to ensure the cable is securely sealed and clamped.
  6. For chassis mounted and flange units, correctly seat sealing washer and main body onto mounting surface and screw down using rear nut or screws with seals. Ensure seal and glands are kept clean.
  7. Securely seat sealing cap to ensure plug is secured to socket.

2 TO 7 POLE INSERTS: Insert bare wire ends into terminals on plug/socket insert and fully tighten screws. Note: If connector is to be used on mains voltage ensure that wires are connected as shown above.

9 POLE INSERTS: Pins and sockets are supplied loose. These are ideally crimped, but careful soldering can work. After connecting wires, draw cable back until plug/socket insert is correctly seated in D shaped location in the main body. Screw home locking ring using cap assembly tool.

SOCKET INSERT: Wire socket insert to supply.

PLUG INSERT: Wire plug insert to appliance. However, plug/socket inserts can be fitted into all styles of main body to give correct plug/socket combination for your application.
