READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and all the important notices on the appliance before using the pump. Failure to do so may result in damage to this appliance.

  • DANGER – To avoid possible electrical shock, special care should be taken since water is employed in the use of this product. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the pump to an authorized service facility for service if it is still under warranty or discard the appliance.
  • A If the pump shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, disconnect the power supply cord and remove the pump from the water.
  • B Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.
  • C Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged electrical cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning, or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. The power cord of this appliance cannot be replaced: if the cord is damaged, the appliance should be discarded. Never cut the cord.
  • D The electrical outlet should always be above the level of the appliance. If the plug or outlet does get wet, DO NOT unplug the electrical cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance, then unplug and examine for the presence of water in the outlet.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with significantly impaired physical or mental capabilities unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • To avoid injury, do not contact moving or hot parts.

CAUTION

Always unplug or disconnect the appliance from the outlet before putting on or taking off parts and while the equipment is being installed, maintained, or handled. When inserting or removing the pump from the water, always pull out the main electrical plug. Never yank the cord to pull the plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect. Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use. Never lift the pump by the cord.

  • THIS IS A PET DRINKING FOUNTAIN PUMP. This pump has been evaluated for use with freshwater only. Do not use this pump for other than its intended use(i.e. don’t use in swimming pools, bathtubs, etc.). The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
  • Do not use the pump in swimming pools or other situations where people are immersed.

  • Do not allow the pump to run dry. The pump must be immersed in water completely. This pump must never operate outside of water.
  • If an extension cord is necessary, ensure the connection is watertight and dustproof. A cord with a proper rating should be used. A cord rated for fewer amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.

USAGE

The Zeus® Fresh & Clear Drinking Fountain presents your dog with an ever- flowing stream of fresh, clean water, enticing them to drink more and to stay hydrated. The included filter purifies your dog’s drinking water in three different ways, clearing out debris and improving its overall taste. The splash guard is an indispensable feature for messy drinkers, as it helps keep the water inside of the fountain rather than splashed all around. The fountain’s translucent reservoir enables you to easily keep an eye on the water level.

INSTALLATION

  • Remove the unit from the box. Remove all parts from the base and set them aside.

  • Clean fountain before use to remove any dirt or debris. Wash the complete unit (excluding the filter) with a sponge.

  • Do not use abrasive cleansers or materials on any part of the unit. Rinse thoroughly.

  • Take the filter cartridge out of the polybag.

  • Rinse the filter to remove excess dust and soak it completely.

  • Open pump, remove impeller cap and impeller (p.16).

  • Rinse each part with water before carefully reassembling.

  • Place the pump in the designated space on the base and push down firmly to attach the suction cups.

  • Insert the power cord into the opening in the base and gently pull it through so there is no excess cord remaining inside of the base.

  • Replace top of fountain.

  • Place filter on top of filter holder, and press down firmly.

  • Note: Install filter with foam-side facing up.

  • Replace fountainhead. Make sure the silicone cover on the end of the nozzle is attached properly. If it is not fully attached, the water will not run properly.

  • Check from above if the pump outlet and nozzle are lined up correctly. If the pump outlet is not visible through the opening in the fountainhead, these parts are not correctly lined up and the water will not run properly.

  • Fill the fountain with water up to the maximum water level line (three dots). Do not overfill the fountain.

  • Allow the fountain to sit for 15 minutes before use. This allows the water to soak through the filter. Connect the fountain cord to the adaptor and plug the adaptor into the wall socket. Secure excess power cord with tie wrap and place behind unit to avoid pet chewing and entanglement.

MAINTENANCE

WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

  • WARNING: Always unplug or disconnect the pump from the electrical supply with dry hands before putting on or taking off parts and whenever the pump is being installed, maintained or handled.
  • Wash and rinse fountain with a soft sponge and a non-abrasive cleanser. Rinse thoroughly, ensuring no soapy residue.
  • Remove the filter from the fountain and rinse. Do not wash the filter with soap. If filter contains excess debris or other foreign matter, replace it (replacement filters sold separately). The filter should be replaced every 3-4 weeks or when there are visible signs that the filter is saturated with foreign matter (debris, food, hair, etc.) or if the water flow is impeded. More frequent changes may be necessary due to indoor environmental and water conditions, as well as multiple pet use.
  • Should pump appear dirty, open pump and remove impeller cap and impeller (see installation instructions on page 20). Remove any debris from the impeller and clean the impeller well with a cotton swab. Handle impeller with care. If the pump makes noise, top up the water level in the pump chamber so it is fully submerged.
  • DO NOT ALLOW THE PUMP TO RUN DRY.
