Product Usage Instructions
Operating Instructions:
- Use Chart 1 to estimate the number of LBS/1,000 square feet of coverage.
- Find the closest LBS/1,000 square feet in Chart 2 that you estimated using Chart 1.
- Set the spreader setting according to the estimated LBS/1,000 square feet from Chart 2.
- Slide the lever below the hopper to the back (if standing behind the spreader) to activate the patented feature that prevents fertilizer from being spread to the left side.
- Position the left wheel 6-12 inches from your sidewalk or border.
- Fill the hopper with the appropriate material.
- Push the spreader forward and turn the crank handle to start spreading.
Note: Remove the agitator when using Rock Salt to prevent gearbox damage.
How to Determine the Setting Rate:
- Use Chart 1 to estimate the number of LBS/1,000 square feet of coverage (Example: 20LB bag with 10,000 square foot coverage = 2.0LBS/1,000 square feet)
- Find the closest LBS/1,000 square feet in Chart 2 that you estimated using Chart 1 (Example: 2.0LBS/1,000 square feet = Spreader Setting of 13)

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
SIDE SPREAD CONTROL
Your EarthWay spreader includes a patented feature to prevent fertilizer from being spread to the left side. To activate this feature, slide the lever below the hopper to the back (if standing behind the spreader) and position the left wheel 6″-12″ from your sidewalk or border. This will not waste fertilizer like competitor designs that leave 7X the fertilizer inside the wheels from blocking material leaving the impeller.
ASSEMBLY
For assembly, flip up handle and tighten each wing nut to hold handle in
position.
SPREADER RATE SETTINGS
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before filling hopper, become familiar with the operation of this spreader.
- Obtain proper setting for material to be used from the SETTING MATRIX included with this spreader.
- Move stop bolt on rate gauge assembly to the proper setting and tighten.
- While pushing spreader forward, push control lever forward to the stop bolt. To stop, pull lever back to close flow holes before you stop moving.
- When finished, empty any remaining material from hopper.
- Thoroughly wash spreader and allow to dry before storing.
- To prevent corrosion, spray a light oil or Fluid Film inside the tubing of the chassis and on all metal parts.
- If using Rock Salt, to prevent damage to the gearbox remove salt from the hopper daily. Rock Salt will reconstitute back into a solid block if left in the hopper overnight and will damage your gearbox if operated with the salt in pla
