Product Information
The NVR-00-G2 is a compact network video recorder with pre-installed software including Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS, Network Optix Mediaserver, and Webmin. It has a variety of physical connectors including DC Power, USB-A 2.0, HDMI 2.0, microSD Card Slot, RJ-45 (10/100/1000Mbps), and 2 SATA connectors. The device also comes with installation material, a quick start guide, and a power cable.

FIRST USE
INSTALLING STORAGE DISKS
Inside the packaging you’ll find a small plastic bag with various screws
inside which will be required to install the storage disk(s).
It is advisable to install the storage disk(s) before starting the
initialization procedure since you will be offered the option to have the
disk(s) configured automatically during the initialization procedure.
ATTENTION
It is not required to remove the entire case to install the storage disk(s).
Therefore it is advised only to remove the case lid as is shown in the
instructional video. If the entire case has to be removed for whichever
reason, first make sure that the microSD-card is safely removed from its slot
before disassembling the case, otherwise the microSD-card might get damaged,
resulting in the unit no longer booting up. Such damages are not covered by
the product warranty and any replacements of the microSD-card will be invoiced
accordingly.
INITIALIZATION
On the first time that you start the device, it will wait for the completion
of the initialization procedure. This procedure takes only a few minutes to
complete and can not be skipped. During this procedure, you will be asked to
change the password for the administrator user and you will receive the option
to have any installed storage disks configured as a logical volume
automatically. Only when these steps have been completed will the mediaserver
be started, after which you can go through the configuration of the Nx Witness
system. To start the initialization procedure, you will need to either connect
the device to a display and keyboard using the HDMI- and USB-ports found on
the device. If there is no possibility to do so, you may also use SSH to
complete the procedure. In that case, make use of the command prompt or a
PowerShell window to connect to the device using the command found below.
Replace the part marked using green text by the IP address of the device.
ssh administrator@
Then log in using the default login credentials as found below.
- Username Password
- administrator Password
Now follow the steps as displayed on screen to complete the first start-up procedure. Navigation is done using the Tab- and Arrow keys, while selection and confirmation is done through the Enter key and Spacebar.
